They have spent the subsequent three weeks gnashing their teeth and rending their clothes over it. All things being equal, this (http://mediamatters.org/items/200709270010?f=h_top) should keep them busy for months. Oh wait, Limbaugh, who called MoveOn's ad "contemptible" and "indecent", is a conservative. I expect there with be a few muted denunciations then we'll all move along. Or maybe not. After all, at the link above notes, 7 soldiers published a letter in the NYT denouncing the war. Two were subsequently killed in Baghdad. Does Limbaugh consider these 7, and the two who were killed, "phoney soldiers"? Are his grieving relatives "phoney survivors?" Oh, and this is hilarious--last January he called Senator Hagel, who is a Vietnam Vet, "Senator Betrayus." At a minimum, everyone who pontificated over the MoveOn.org ad should spend as much or more time excoriating Limbaugh. I routinely criticize any politician (and bashing free trade is a favorite Democratic tactic when they are appealing to organized labor) who promotes "protections" from free trade. On the other hand, you have to admit that if you are somewhere on the other side of the political spectrum than I, you have had many, many more opportunities to diss your own side these past long seven years. After all, if you're a real conservative you'r almost obligated to bash Bush for slamming us with deficits again, which are really nothing more than taxes deferred to the next generation. And for misadventures abroad. And you can bash the Republican Congress for spending our treasure like madmen and women while providing zero oversight of the worst president in American history and for providing massive subsidy after massive subsidy to already rich industries like the banking, energy, and pharmaceutical industries while refusing to actually pay for those subsidies.
