A black student was held against his will and then released with "KKK" and swastikas drawn on him in marker at the Model Secondary School for the Deaf on Sunday, she said. No charges have been filed, and no names have been released, Lanier added. The school is a residential high school on the campus of Gallaudet University, a higher education facility in Washington for deaf and hard of hearing people. I personally thought they were just joking, but when I read the kid was held against his will then I knew something was wrong. And before we go any further, this is not related to the Jena Six from what I've read. Could put these people to better use by paving road with them. A felony offense is seriously overdoing it.

A felony offense is seriously overdoing it. I'd say there's a case for assault if the guy wanted to press charges. I'd be tempted to kick some ass, but no doubt that would be a bad idea. The smart thing to to would be to prank them super duper hard. It seems like they were all friends, at least to some degree. It would be a shame to ruin that, and have bad blood over some bad decisions and poor understanding of the symbols they were using. I'm not saying the situation is good, but it looks like the violence and hate that came to my mind when reading the headline aren't as they first appeared.
