Title: Assassin's Creed Post by: gommi on November 13, 2007, 07:06:05 PM MicFranklin, you play Prince of Persia so I assume you will appreciate this. It is by the same developers.
This game, out tomorrow for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, looks truly incredible. It is essentially an interactive piece of history, in which you play as Alair, an assassin in thirteenth-century Palestine, on a quest to kill the leaders of the crusade throughout the Christian kingdom. You travel to gorgeously re-created medieval cities, including Jerusalem and Damascus, gathering information and using various techniques at your disposal to stealthily (or not so stealthily) kill the political figure in charge. You escape by scaling walls and running across rooftops, which looks like a great gameplay mechanic and a lot of fun. Anyone think they'll pick this up eventually? Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: Totino on November 13, 2007, 08:38:39 PM I had never heard of this until you mentioned it. But I looked it up and it looks freaking awesome.
Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: Gojira on November 13, 2007, 10:26:32 PM They were marketing it constantly during South Park last week.
It looks nuts. I don't know if the game play is actually good but I was sold on the "movie like" trailer that they played on T.V. If I had time to play video games these days, this would be bought on release date. BTW, isn't it kind of wrong that such a game is coming out depicting the time of crusades when our world is currently in a religious war of Xianity vs Islam? Or is that how it always been... Cuz I mean killing them Muslims is phun I guess. I don't care though. I just look foward to slittin throats. Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: gommi on November 14, 2007, 07:56:38 PM After having played it, I can decisively say it is excellent. The game world is amazing, with areas of nice countryside between the cities that you can ride a horse around.
The urban areas are very expansive, and you can maneuver around in them in ways that are awesome. The player can essentially chose to behave conspicuously or inconspicuously, blending in with the crowd and performing 'discreet' kills if you choose the latter. If guards notice suspicious behavior on your part, you can easily lose them by free-running like a ninja and hiding. It makes you the ultimate baddass. I love this game. Consider this a recommendation! Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: 14-years-old-jane on November 14, 2007, 09:31:58 PM Where u played it? it's out in 4 month or so,,,
just 4 u to know October - November was a FPS attack on the planet with landings like Crysis, Bioshock, CoD4, Area51, Gear of War, new F.E.A.R addon , new Half Life2 addon, Hellgate London , Medal OF Honor Airborne and so on Also two other good FPS out this month later,, god i'm gonna kill much,,, the most enjoyable would be enemy from CoD4 if you know what i mean,,, i thank them for Iraq instead of usual WWII crap that i'm sick of,,, Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: gommi on November 15, 2007, 07:03:19 AM Where u played it? it's out in 4 month or so,,, Maybe where you live ;).Quote just 4 u to know October - November was a FPS attack on the planet with landings like Crysis, Bioshock, CoD4, Area51, Gear of War, new F.E.A.R addon , new Half Life2 addon, Hellgate London , Medal OF Honor Airborne and so on True, many shooters have been released recently. Dont forget though Unreal Tournament 3, which looks amazing. Quote Also two other good FPS out this month later,, god i'm gonna kill much,,, the most enjoyable would be enemy from CoD4 if you know what i mean,,, i thank them for Iraq instead of usual WWII crap that i'm sick of,,, Yeah, we've seen too many WWII shooters. COD4 is refreshing because of the new setting, and of course the action and effects are mind blowing. Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: 14-years-old-jane on November 15, 2007, 10:33:06 AM No,,, it out on February 2008 worldwide what you playin is cheap console version,, what i will play would be game on Windows Vista with DX10, dual NVidia 8800GT and 4GB ram,,, well one slot of my ram covers X-BOX or PS3 whatever crap you have there,,, You don't even know what Shader v4.0,,, you will be shocked seein same game on my PC when it out compared to your powered by battery 500mhz Gameboy
Consoles are for students and stoners,,, real gamers do it real, on PC noobugotlolzpwned for one i agree action games ( like this very game) sell better for consoles because you don't need more than 8 buttons anyway Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: gommi on November 15, 2007, 03:49:04 PM Well, I think it looks pretty damn good on the Xbox. PC's will obviously have superior graphics, however the controls are probably more appropriate for a console (unless you're using a gamepad). Regardless, the more platforms its on, the better!
Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: Totino on November 15, 2007, 05:53:07 PM Play BF2 if you want Middle Eastern fights.... Good stuff.
I'll probably get this game when it comes out on PC. Although I'll need to do some upgrading on my video card. Why would you play the game on Vista? All that does is take up more of your RAM.... Consoles are only good for sports. PCs outweight them in most other genres. Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: 14-years-old-jane on November 15, 2007, 09:38:30 PM No, consoles are good for action 3rd person like Assassin too because you don't have much control there,,,
Visa requires more memory and more graphics to play same game on same system because it utilizes DirectX 10 which is much superior to Dx9 that we using on xp an below (direct X is basically what makes graphics and sound to be as they are in Windows) nothing yet compares to it,,, even to old dx9....consoles and open gl (open source thingie) are a joke,,, give it half year and difference will be pretty clear as soon as all major games will move towards dx10 version Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: Totino on November 15, 2007, 10:04:31 PM You've obviously never heard of the Alky project which plans to bring DX10 to XP (which is in the works now), linux, and mac.
Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: 14-years-old-jane on November 15, 2007, 11:41:11 PM You obviously young and naive,,, Ask Fred about MS,,, he will tell you the old timer story how MS fucks anything around it which/who stops it from moving forward,,, XP will die in year,,, at least for casual gamers and .net programmers,,, (i'm both)... All "DX10" emulation on XP will be as useful as Wine for Linux that makes very old Win software run with huge amount of errors,,,
i don't know if you familiar with programming but think of it that way DX10 is closed source application, you cannot see what it does and how,,, all you can get is responses of it towards actions yo apply on it,,, think of what you need to do in order to hack (rewrite) DX10 framework,,, it's not cracking game serial,,, it's not hacking website... it's rewriting something you cannot see,,, as it has ZERO MS support it will fail or take 4 years in good case... Check out Wine again, which is huge project constantly (for years) fails to achieve desired effect,,, 95% of professional applications doesn't work on it,, and it supported by huge companies not some group of bloggers and 19 years old naive kids Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: Totino on November 16, 2007, 12:10:19 AM You're obviously an ignaramous. If you had any intel at all you would know that microsoft and nvidia themselves could of made DX10 compatible with XP. MS simply decided "Hey we want more money, vista only".
You're comparing apples to oranges with the wine comparison. DX10 is doable on XP. On mac and linux? Maybe not. But their main goal is XP. And again if you had any intel at all you would know that Cedega (which was derived from WineX) is NOW what linux users use for windows games. And if you did your research you would see that Cedega runs most popular games error free. IE: It runs Half life and the counterparts. It runs Half Life 2 and the counterparts. It runs Call of duty FOUR and a few of the earlier CODs. It runs F.E.A.R.. It runs BF2, BF1942, BF Vietnam, BF2: Spec ops, etc. I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. The reality is you're running your mouth like a 14 year old loon. Don't question my computer geekness. You'll lose every time ;). Because I've done the research, and this thread proves you haven't. And I could really care less what Gates and his cronies have to say. Vista has already been nicknamed MEII (that's "Millennium Edition II" for you noncomputer people). Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: 14-years-old-jane on November 16, 2007, 02:53:41 AM u r a joke,,, Cedega runs games released 3 years ago and it costs half of what Windows does,,, i've never said DX10 must be run from XP but that MS would never let anyone stop their progress. learn to read wacko... FFS FEAR and BF,,,
heck some 19 old pc store clerk gives me a lesson,,, omfg,,, i'm disappointed i don't question your geekness,, though i question your knowledge and from what i see u just some Linux peon who wants to play games 3 years after original release some lossy heck like you convinced me once that Photoshop CS2 runs smooth on Linux until i've installed it and seen with my bare eyes what it looks like,,, even portable PS 7 runs with errors once in a while,,, won't happen again,,, Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: Totino on November 16, 2007, 11:06:04 AM You're telling me to learn to read? It runs Call Of Duty FOUR which was released 11 DAYS AGO. Yeah that sure isn't recent is it you moron?
I simply mentioned BF2 and the others because those are the TOP PC games. Linux peon? I actually have XP and really only use XP. I do have backtrack 2 (you probably don't even know what that is), but I'd only ever use it on a laptop if I wanted to some wireless internet ;). I never said anything about photoshop. Plus there's no reason to used photoshop on linux when you can use Gimp (which is free and does the same things). Doesn't matter what Microsoft does or says. The Alky project already released their DX10 program in the Alpha stage. It will be successful. Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: 14-years-old-jane on November 16, 2007, 11:14:24 AM You mentioned 1 game released this month and 5 other released 2-4 years ago, and yes of course Gimp does the same thing as does the PS,,, it makes images,,, like Duke Nukem 3D and CoD4 r doin the same,, u run in tunnels and shoot random characters,,,
case closed, u dismissed back to ur pc store... funny is idealists like you never reach anywhere so you either change yourself or fuck there where ur now Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: Totino on November 16, 2007, 11:19:00 AM PC store? I don't work at a PC store. And it's quite obvious I know a bit more than you do.
You really cannot read. The games I named are all the top PC games. Name some just released PC games that you'd like to me look up. The reality is they'll have it, but you'll keep denying the facts because you're a moron. Basically, I switched UT for IAP.... UT is looking better and better.... ;-) Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: 14-years-old-jane on November 16, 2007, 11:42:55 PM You really cannot read. CoD2 does so as FEAR and HL2 which released many years ago now be a good boy go to Cedega website and check list of games that work with latest version before you get yourself into more troubles,, hopefully you will shut up for long time now *This post was edited by Totino. Don't use that language with me again. Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: 14-years-old-jane on November 18, 2007, 11:11:39 AM you continue being a joke kiddo, first of shut you mouth about my language because you the one started with name calling,,, i will use any language i find proper for you as moderator...
Now go to Cedega website and look for COD4 in their lists,,, then open ur blind eyes to read again the blog article by other kiddo like you who posted some crap about demo that partly working while some others couldn't even start the game or disagreed with him,,, well like most of Linux tries to run Windows software... The one who posts articles claim to have it workin unlike real ppl who try,,, like all those homeless Linux users usin this to attract ppl towards their "OS",, I wanted to leave you alone with your geekness or whatever you call it alone if you wouldn't dare to edit my posts while you the first to open your mouth wide ( not first the first time),,, but again even in geekness you are inferior,,, even Harry Potter lookin guys in your PC store u clerkin at,,, they r better than u,,, Title: Re: Assassin's Creed Post by: Totino on November 18, 2007, 12:04:19 PM I didn't swear at you buddy. That's not my style.
You're wrong. I've proven it, I even linked you. And now I have no need to waste anymore time on you. Enjoy being wrong!
