BD is in a "kitty phase", it seems.

Ironic, to say the least.

So when he's criticized for something stupid like flag pins he's not allowed to call them out on it? He's just supposed to sit there? Why?

LOL....no....he is to try and "convince" us of his patriotism.....we must rely on his "words" because his deeds and actions paint another picture.....too funny....

No. Cause idiots out there think you have to LOOK patriotic in order to BE patriotic.

I don't wear a flag pin nor do I serve in the US armed forces, but I'd like some hook-toothed ignoramous to tell me I'm not patriotic... even though that idiot probably couldn't tell me the 3 branches of government... let alone how they interact. If Obama even knows that much (and I'm pretty sure he knows more then that) than he's got an edge on 41% of the population.

More:

- More than half of Americans don't know the number of Senators
- 1 out of 6 believe that the Constitution establishes America as a Christian nation
- 20% believe that only lawyers can understand the Constitution
- Almost one-quarter cannot name a single right guaranteed to us by the First Amendment
- 84% believe that the U.S. Constitution is the document that states that "all men are created equal", thus confusing it with the Declaration of Independence.

... It's almost no wonder Michelle Obama isn't proud of her country. These stats don't make me feel proud...

No candidate (and I'm not even talking about Obama) can run on the important things anymore cause we're all to crazy about proving patratism with some myopic definition. Both candidates have to dumb down there image because the majority of Americans only care about how they look!

It's maddening!

I guess you'd be happier if Obama didn't try running for president?

It might be the best chance McCain has.....

I think it's fine he run.....I think you should run also.....your both about as qualified....

What's that supposed to mean?

Quote from: Patton
I like McCains chances.....it's the times when you Democrat supporters come out nipping at the heels and piss on McCains service...and spit on those of faith....that the Democratic bases true colors shine brightest......

Please keep it up!

So I guess it was fine when Republicans were doing it to Kerry?

I honestly can't wrap my brain around the GOP. I honestly can't. It's hypocracy incarnate.

At some point we as a civilized society are forced to interrupt the actions of those who attempt to deprive us of our lawful rights.  At some point, and we are far past that point,  the douche making the speech should be forced to leave...end of speech.

Look, I hate the president as much as the next guy, but 20 people with signs and costumes won't bring about his impeachment. And note I'm not telling the protesters to "sit down and shut up". I'm only telling them not to be shocked when you get thrown out for causing a ruckus.

Again, free speech doesn't let you act like an ass for as long as you like. It let's you say (for the most part) what you want. It doesn't give you free range to continuously interupt a speaker. Otherwise, you're denying that guy the right he has to free speech.

"Freedom" goes both ways.

In any evernt Mccain shoudl be asked this question by the press right before they question Obama on his ties to actual terrorist bombers here in america.

... God, I hope this isn't about Obama possibly being Muslim...
5  Political Discussions / United States / Re: Bush heckled at Monticello during 4th of July naturalization ceremony on: July 04, 2008, 08:18:20 PM
Free speech does not allow you to act like a jack ass for as long as you like.

Bush has to finish what he's saying at SOME point. If the douche with a sign keeps interupting him then they have to leave.

End. Of. Story.

No, Reaganite is using reversed, reverse psychology.

He pretends people call him a racist when he criticizes Obama because most of the tripe he brings up here isn't that big of a deal. So to defend his ridiculous posts, he says other people aren't bringing it up because they're afraid they'd be called racists too.

So even though Obama has never even mumbled such an accusation or made this campaign about his blackness, Reaganite will do it for him...

... and look like an idiot doing that. But hey, what else is new?

.....more often as a result of the desire by some to score political points and raise fears about who I am and what I stand for.

And too friggin true...

Welcome to politics Mr Obama.....grow a spine....

So when he's criticized for something stupid like flag pins he's not allowed to call them out on it? He's just supposed to sit there? Why?

Quote from: Patton
I understand you won Carol Mosely Brauns Senate seat unopposed.....and you feel entitled to the Presidency as our "messiah"...

I never remember him referring to himself like that...

... it's usually just Republicans who are unhappy that they can't even get their party base behind their own candidate...

Quote from: Patton
....but please quite whining about your political opponent "raising fears about who I am and what I stand for"......your not the first one this has happened to during an election.....

I guess you'd be happier if Obama didn't try running for president?

It might be the best chance McCain has...
9  Political Discussions / United States / Re: McCain's Account of Time in Vietnam on: July 03, 2008, 11:35:15 AM
I don't know what they are going to do....I simply found the concept of a "I'm A Patriot Too" speech hilarious....as with most things out of this guys mouth.....

And yet, at certain times over the last sixteen months, I have found, for the first time, my patriotism challenged - at times as a result of my own carelessness, more often as a result of the desire by some to score political points and raise fears about who I am and what I stand for.

Too friggin funny......

And too friggin true...

If you accelerate below 2,000 - 2,500 RPM you can increase your mileage by LEAPS AND BOUNDS.

I used to get 25 mpg with my Saturn Ion but now I'm sure I get closer to 30 mpg... or even more. I haven't had the chance to figure it out yet cause I haven't had to fill up in almost 3 weeks!

Regardless, you're right neue, energy policy is driving this election right now.

Reaganite, you wanna tell everybody who you stole that post from?

Google is your friend: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=27207

For the record, we shouldn't have to do that. Reaganite, as a long time member of both IAP 1.0 and 2.0, knows better then this. Also, having graduated high school (I imagine), he should know better then to not cite sources.

No.

But we've seen posts like this before by spammers, so you'll have to excuse our initial skepticism.
12  Political Discussions / United States / Re: McCain's Account of Time in Vietnam on: July 03, 2008, 11:17:50 AM
What's funnier still is Obama having to make a speech to show his patriotism.....I guess because evidently he's not sure if people think he is.....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that how Republicans are going to warp their pathetic attempt to initially question his patriotism? Cause he doesn't flash it around with some lapel pin?

"How low will they go?"
13  Political Discussions / United States / Re: McCain's Account of Time in Vietnam on: July 02, 2008, 07:57:32 PM
And four years ago they were more than happy to brutally smear one of the most highly decorated veterans Vietnam produced, John Kerry, in order to get their Texas Air National Guard "hero" reelected.

Ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssh!

The GOP has the veteran now, so stop whining!
14  Political Discussions / United States / Re: New Iraq report: 15 of 18 benchmarks satisfactory on: July 02, 2008, 04:39:44 PM
I kinda enjoy seeing the dems and liberals here try to not say "good job" and insetad work hard to turn good news into bad.

This isn't good news. This is just better news then we've seen...

... which isn't saying much.
15  Social Discussions / Philosophy and Religion / Re: At what point will common sense prevail on: July 01, 2008, 07:50:09 PM
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say...

... yes.
