Yes.  It was not a war crime because it SAVED more lives than it cost.  It was not a war crime because the Japanese refused to surrender and there's no use expending 1.2 million American lives when the loss of 200,000 Japanese ones will do the same thing.  It was gruesome.  Not a war crime.

What about:

US backing of chiles pinochet.
US backing of soeharto - more than 500,000 people killed
US in vietnam - 1 million vietnamese killed
US conquering of north america - 10 million people killed
US backing genocide of natives in south american countries

Yeah, right up there with the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the bombing of Dresden ...
How many people did Chairman Mao execute by his forced policies during the Great Leap?  30 million?

Any reasonable person could not compare the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (which saved maybe one million American lives)
But you're not reasonable, so that's too much to expect of you.

ROFL ....

what do you expect from a racist american.

all the posts are racist on here.  they just constant bash china and demonise it.  at least we didn't invade iraq or support israel.  we made better job of tibet than usa has in iraq.  look at guantanomo.

you don't undersatnd the working of china.  those poor buildings are due to local coruption.  central government is working hard to solve that.  it will take a long time.

but china is geting bettter.  you cant deny that.

Why even argue with your racist lies.
6  Political Discussions / Europe and Asia / Re: China's Filthy Pollution on: June 24, 2008, 09:00:09 PM
china will be clearner soon.  every year china is better getting and develping.  soon it will be much better than the usa and the citie's are already cleaner than the usa cities.
Your propaganda might be easier to stomach if you actually even attempted to back up what you say.  Since you don't and can't we all know it to be lies.

Because i am china and i see chinese city every day getting better and better while your countries go down the sinkhole.

in cultral revolution some bad thing were done.

Few million people here and there dead due to the Communist government, but who cares, right?  The Cultural Revolution and the Great Jump Forward rank right up with the Holocaust and the Rwandan genocides as some of the greatest evil and brutality that human has ever inflicted upon other humans.

nonsense.  holocaust was pure evil.  but cultural reovultion was mistake by mao.  but it didn't intend great evil.  people died because agricultural policies were wrong.  not becfause mao was like hitler.

No, this is not the truth.  when the foreigners go to the beijing to watch olympics, they will see very beautiful city with many modern shops and supermarketmalls.  they will be the very surprised at the sight.  it is not the same as you people think.

People who say the bad thing about USA are often ban from western site too.  So dont just criticise the chinadaily site.  It have many different view on things.

13  Assistance and Feedback / The Inferno / Re: CHINA is more FREE than the WEST .... !!!!!!! on: May 11, 2008, 05:15:00 AM
So why do many chinese emigrate every year then?

I am not saying China is a bad place(never been there) nor am I saying that the west is perfect either(I have done many threads about problems in the west).

But "My country is better or freerer than yours" threads are a waste of time. It is merely a matter of taste. If you are happy living in China, then that is great and I wish you a long happy life there. But trying to convince others about it, is akin to propaganda.

Economic.  The West is still much richer.  But that doesnt mean that it is freer.  Many chinese friends are now going to live in the west and coming back to China later.
14  Political Discussions / Europe and Asia / Re: a chinese wanna say something about tibet on: May 10, 2008, 11:32:32 PM
I mean to say with economics, not with war.  i agree that we are peaceful, and have never invaded another country, unlike the warlike west.  I mean to say that one day i hope that we are rich than europe and the usa and they have to come crawling to us for aid and help.  how i shall to laugh.
15  Political Discussions / Europe and Asia / Re: Labour party, where are you going? on: May 10, 2008, 11:11:38 PM
I can guarantee that even in poor part of China, there is no of these kind of problems here.  Young people are greatly loved by their families.  West has rich, but has forgotten the other thing.

I never hear of old lady being beaten by ten young people.  if that to happen in china, perputrators would be locked up for the rest of their lives.  it would not be thinkable for youngsters to smoke drugs or drink alcohol.
