WTF is McCain doing. This has to be the worst pick in the history of VP's. He can't even go after Obama now about experience like he has in the last year. She's hot, she's a woman, she has kids....but she doesn't know how to run a country. Its obvious she was chosen for her gender rather than her expertise, that is what pisses me off. All he want is votes now and has gone far away from the concerns of the people. This was a poor decision just for votes, hell he should have gone one step further and picked a black woman.

What do you expect Hildog and Billy to say? They had a deal...you pay my campaign debt we stand behind you. I turned the TV when Billy started to speak. Four straight days of this Democrap is way to much for me. McCain has elected and will announce his VP tonight right when Obama speaks thank god I will have something else to watch besides more lies and broken promises from the democraps. I am looking foward to the debate on Sep. 26th, when McCain can call him out on all his BS.

Biden has a big mouth. But I have say good pick. His son is being deployed to Iraq (how convenient) so you can expect that to come up in the next 2 months. But Obama needs to tell him to hush until election or it will be like Billy trying to get Hilly elected (a disaster)

Bush speaks on the issue of the mold at Ft. Sill, not really, but sort of. Not for those with no sense of humor. Actually, issue isn't amusing, but sometime a good belly laugh can clear up
issues and with Bush's history well......

Once again poor housing conditions for the military.....Clinton budget cuts....get the picture
6  Political Discussions / United States / Re: Has Anyone NotedThe News Today The Occupation Of Iraq May End Sooner Than Later? on: August 20, 2008, 06:27:23 PM
I welcome the news. However I do not like the idea that troops will be restricted to base (sitting ducks if you ask me) and called upon whenever the Iraq troops get in trouble. I say if you are going to pull them, pull them.

When the elections started I never heard of Ron Paul. Then everyone started talking about how he would be the best candidate so I started to find out more about him. The more I listened to Ron Paul the more I realized he is an idiot. I always wondered why he ran on the Republican ticket rather the democratic one where his views seem to be more in line with. Get rid of the IRS, stop printing the dollar (and adopt the euro?), get rid of defense alliances, his ideas are off the wall and will put us in third world status quicker than you can imagine. He is an isolationist and does not realize that what happens in this world affects us all no matter how much you try to stay out of it. No Sir, No Ron Paul for me send this guy to the nuthouse

Once again you refuse to accept the facts and lay blame on everything that is happening on the war in Iraq. You talk about loosing 4000 men and women who serve and compare it to budget cuts? Did not get you on this one as I thought you were trying to transit from the truth to your opinion. I guess you refuse to talk about how Clinton has deployed more troops than Bush and Reagan combined. Yes let us over look all of this because Obama will save us, it is time for change, more defense cuts, more welfare checks and free programs to the lazy who refuse to work because our government will take care of them. Yes I am looking foward to that change.

Cass what I am saying is we are reaping the decisions made by Billy...

"Clinton was the first President in Cold War history to eliminate the daily intelligence briefing by the National Security Council as well as the only President in modern times to forbid servicemen and women from wearing their uniforms in the White House while on duty -- President Clinton has recently been forced to bite his tongue and propose an increase in defense spending.
With U.S. planes and helicopters literally falling out of the sky because of a lack of maintenance and spare parts, as well as a lack of training, all the while U.S. forces being tasked more than ever with overseas deployments, Republicans in Congress have for years been asking the White House to support increased defense spending." http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/political_economy/15499 (note in bold and we wonder why we did not see 9/11 coming)

Clinton Cut Army to Less Than Half its Gulf War Size http://www.papillonsartpalace.com/weinberg.htm

You see we do not see the effect of the current President until the next President. Things do not change overnight. Therefore, the "nice economy" we had under Clinton was in fact the result of GWB Sr. and Reagan. What we are seeing now is the direct results of Clinton decisions. People wonder why the economy is in shambles? We were forced to close down hundreds of bases that killed many city economies because the military could not afford to keep them open. We are cutting back on VA medical care, and education benefits because of these cuts. You can say what you want, but truth is Clinton ruined this country not Bush. And to think cutting the military budget is only one small thing that this idiot did wrong.

10  Political Discussions / United States / Re: Wal-Mart tells employees: Don't vote for Obama on: August 19, 2008, 04:54:13 PM
This short article is a good example of how corporations challenge labor interests, and how it relates to the political process. Apparently Wal-Mart has been discouraging its employees from voting for Barack Obama, as they fear that his reforms will empower workers and threaten their wealth. This is of course a violation of America's democratic values.

Wal-Mart and US Politics

Several American labour groups have filed a complaint against Wal-Mart for instructing its employees to vote against Obama and other Democrats. I first got wind of this electoral controversy a couple of weeks ago through The Hamilton Spectator, which printed an Associated Press story that succinctly outlines Wal-Mart’s actions and the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) against which these actions are directed.

Wal-Mart spokesmen do not deny that company officials told employees how to vote. Instead, they claim that these officials were “acting without approval.” An editorial to be printed in tomorrow’s New York Times appropriately pans this defence.

Canadian trade unionists should pay attention to this episode. Some components of the Democratic agenda, such as banning the permanent replacement of striking workers, would simply grant unionized Americans basic protections that unionized Canadians have long taken for granted. However, by permitting card-check certification, EFCA would set the procedural barriers to union organizing lower in the US than in most Canadian provinces.

EFCA also provides for first-contract arbitration and mediation as well as stronger penalties for violations of the existing National Labor Relations Act. Since Obama has personally sponsored EFCA, there is good reason to expect that a Democratic victory will result in its implementation.

Big deal....come on people votes are confidential. I would lie to these idiots and say I will vote for who they want and vote the way I want. They will never know. But I do think that companies should stay out of promoting candidates. Unfortunately this is not against the law unless you are military. Companies can persuay voters to vote for certain people, it only becomes illegal in they install consequences for not doing it. But like I said who knows who you voted for unless you tell them.

Who is Jack Cafferty and what gives him the right to judge anybody? Reporters are not the smartest guys in the world, after all they stand in hurricanes interviewing nothing and reporting on nothing just to get promoted.
12  Political Discussions / Europe and Asia / Re: War : Georgia vs Russia on: August 19, 2008, 04:19:01 PM
Just a quick point: the atrocities are not all on the Russian side. Georgia bombarded South Ossetian towns for 16 hours, razed them to the ground, before Russia retaliated. I think in that situation Russia could say "we have given the West 16 hours to stop this, now we will stop this."

Of course, they went well past this mark a long time ago. But lets not pretend that Georgia is entirely blameless.

Both are laying blame but Georgia has something that Russia does not....freedom. With the technology today and press on the ground why haven't we heard of these atrocities and "ethnic cleansing" that Russia so proclaimed started this war? Where are the pictures where is the proof? Isn't that what they demanded ferociously of the US before the Iraq war? Is Russia above the law?
13  Political Discussions / Europe and Asia / Re: What the hell is Russia bickering about? on: August 19, 2008, 11:55:57 AM
Is Russia just mad because they are sick and tired of America extending its powers beyond its borders?

Near Russian borders, sir. You must be blind!

Cry me a river...

I'm not social worker to help you out why American bases in Eastern Europe piss Russia off.

Russia is still playing the old game where they think they are oh so important to the international community and then they pull a stunt like Georgia and don't expect consequences?  Typical.

Georgia and Russia have long term conflict with each other over that region. Georgia is supported by my and your country because we dislike Russia and countries Russia supports. Georgia done much more crimes during this war rather Russia. Georgia was ethnically cleansing rebels from Abhazia and Osetia who prefer to be Russians.

I dislike many things Russia does but American bases in Eastern Europe is too much.

So trust me or not but Iraq was much more friendlier country prior American attack on it than Georgia prior Russian attack. When we all know Russia ceased fire after 5 days and you still in Iraq trying to find democratically elected oil pipe.

Too much for who? Russia? All a country that has these bases has to do is tell us to leave just as Japan has and thats a fact. Why will they not kick us out? For one, Bases in Europe are the same as here, you close them so does the shops and economy around it. Second, they know the exact reason why the troops are there.....Russia. The presence of troops thwart any atttempt by Russia. Just as we have done in S. Korea. Despite how friendly you think Russia is, NATO was built exclusively for Russia. Why, because they still have the same ol Soviet Union mentality, just a different name. As for the "ethic cleansing" part you cry me a river. What I see is a country that wanted to crack down on criminals, yes criminals that Russia was protecting. S. Ossetia is not a country but a part of Geogia that Russia has troops in to cover its on ass, Georgia said enough and wanted to put an end to it. And for Mother Russia....you can't call yourself a peacekeeper if you supply one of the conflicting sides with weapons.

fuck that ...
you are right there is nothing wrong about a country that not long ago was your worst enemy, supports your enemies and barricade all around you to set largest radar system and defensive missile block nearby.

common, mate ! don't be one of those Americans who point on Australia and name it Iraq

They might be interpreting the move in a fashion that is similar to Iraq...I'm not saying I believe that, but I can see how one could interpret it that way.

and RTN doesn't make the S2....we make the SM-2 for foreign countries.

Yes but it took the US to thwart an Invasion by Sadaam and ten years of useless sanctions and bickering before we made a move to go into Iraq. It took them 6 hours.

A Russian General just threatened Poland with a nuclear strike......this should be taken serious with the current situation in Georgia. I have been following the Russia aggression for the last year, not only in Georgia, but also here at home as well with the fly over of Guam and Hawaii with bombers. You have to ask yourself can you really trust this country.
