Lori Drew is a monster. She's an adult who has been a teenage girl before and she still felt manipulation of a girl who is on antidepressants is just okay. That is not adult like behavior. She should have known there could potentially be problems with making a 13 year old girl think you are a boy her age who likes her. If anything, she should be charged as a pedophile. I mean it.

Consequences of this sort are not easily forgotten much less gotten rid of by the perpetrator. It can be said that from this point onward that the Drew family (Lori being the mother affects the entire family) will be psychologically marked till the end of their days. The memory will always be there that the death of an innocent child was brought about by her actions, and theirs if there was any complicity involved. They may move and change their name but the "curse", so to say, will never go away. In short, the Drew family died when Megan died.

That type of "justice" exceeds any material consequences coming their way from others.

I'll refrain from not being honest and just say my true opinion.

To make a fake account, pretend to like to someone and then get into a pissing match over Myspace is dumb. To kill oneself over it is just plain retarded.

While I agree with both points to a certain extent and while I can not ever concieve of killing myself. I do have compassion for someone placed in the youg girls situation. Remember she was a social pariah in her original school, only slowly starting to blossom in her new private school environment. More than likely she had never had a conversation with a boy outside of schoolwork related until she moved and as the article states, began to make real friends.

To have a boy think you are special, to want to be your friend, would be monumental to someone in this type of situation and this sick bitch mom would have KNOWN this. Then to have your hopes of a real relationship smashed. Well i for one have been on the recieving end of this and ca not even IMAGINE how devestating it would have been if this had happened when I was socially fragil like this girl was.

This assumes that the Drew family is normal. The actions Lori Drew took are NOT the actions of a clear thiking, compassionate mother. They are the actions of a sociopath. Even AFTER the death she continued to say it was not that big a deal,,,this woman is sick.

I would suggest some people read the "suicide" thread. In order to get a picture of what was going through the mind of the 13 year girl.

And then go say she was retarded if you dare.

I believe they call these type of people psychic vampires. They feed off the emotions of others like the traditional vampire feeds off blood. They purposely make somebody feel an emotion on a very high level.

It's is really stupid/ignorant to toy with people's emotions, we all can agree on that. There are many ways to deal with that type of problem, however getting into an internet argument and then killing yourself is not the way to solve it. She may have been socially fragile but there was always the option of leaving Myspace.

Hold on, don't you have to be at least 14 to get a Myspace anyway?

wow.  There are not enough words to describe what a tragedy it is, and what a god awful person Lori Drew is, but what i still can't comprehend is how an ADULT can do such a thing.  My opinion they should lock her up and throw away the key, and the worst part of it is that she doesn't feel 'as guilty' because the girl tried suicide before?  WHAT?!

Tell that to the 13 year old girls that post their address and speak to strangers and then *shock* get raped.

And I think that's whats got everyone so riled up.

I mean, if she were unsurprised, that can be explained by the girl's past attempted suicide... but not guilty? In the slightest? Really?

What a bitch.

But this was NOT an internet arguement, this was a relationship, or so the girl thought.

Did you ever get dumped? Ever have a school age crush? Imagine that person ACTING like you are special, then intentionally hurting you. Now imgine you are 13 and have never had anyone think your special. If you can do this Mcfrank, then you will be in the place this poor child was when she killed herself.

I've been dumped a couple of times, it wasn't pleasant I know that. I've also felt as though no one thought I was "all that," but that was back in elementary school and I just adopted the "fuck everyone" mentality. Sorry but I've been there before and I found a way to deal with it.

Kinda helps that you were a guy, though.

Am I sexist if I call girls "unstable"? Especially around puberty?

My advice would be not to mess with a girl of any age. You know why.
