Despite to be among the most pacifist community in ME, christians are suffering eveyday from hatred and racism attacks, new article by Haaretz Christians in Jerusalem want Jews to stop spitting on them"When there is an attack against Jews anywhere in the world, the Israeli government is incensed, so why when our religion and pride are hurt, don't they take harsher measures?" he asks. Former adviser to the mayor on Christian affairs, Shmuel Evyatar, describes the situation as "a huge disgrace." He says most of the instigators are yeshiva students studying in the Old City who view the Christian religion with disdain."I'm sure the phenomenon would end as soon as rabbis and well-known educators denounce it. In practice, rabbis of yeshivas ignore or even encourage it," he says. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/ShAr ... mNo=487412 Indeed it remembers 2 years ago, when a group of neocons pro-israel pilgrims were attacked by more than 100 orthodoxes!! Hatred in Jerusalem is posing a serious problem in the City of Peace! Partiarch of Jerusalem Attallah and Jerusalem Mufti

Israel is the place where all the fanatics from various religions and sects gather to show off and spit on each others. Normal that this happens. Israel is there for that.
TBS, with all the fanatic christians parading through the holly sites and clogging the Cross Path permanently, one can say that jews are quiet tolerants. I don't think a single muslim region would tolerate even a tiny fraction of the christian processions and symbol deployement that we see in Jerusalem daily.

Yes sadly many jews are regarded as "christianphobists", so their reaction may turn to a bad behavior!
Fredledingue, muslims in jerusalem are more tolerant toward christians, and it's the case in other states in middle east (Egypt or syria), they are living there for centuries in peace, I have yet posted that emirates for example has built a new church in abu Dhabi for christian citizens- and both christian palestinians or greek christians are more closer to muslims than israelis!
Which make that case harmful is that the haaretz article claims that rabbis of yeshivas ignore or even encourage those behaviors.

"Fredledingue, muslims in jerusalem are more tolerant toward christians, and it's the case in other states in middle east (Egypt or syria), "
Uhh no. Only if you're only speaking of Egypt and Syria. You definately need to narrow your list of 'other states in the middle east' to those two...(and you will STILL find execptions here and there in the news if you wait long enough), before you can make any sense with that and you know it.
So i see we're just doing the same old shit here on the ME forum right? Hit man is the new guy to come here every single day to post ANYTHING AT ALL that could even remortely be used to diss Jerusalem.....then naturally we move on to the "what about Iran though?".
back and forth...back and forth. You dont fool anyone Hitman. You're just another piontless propagandist who couldn't tell the truth if your life depended on it. Could you guys be any more pointless? I really doubt it.
More lies and misrepresentation from our friend Hitman/Untouchables: "Despite to be among the most pacifist community in ME, christians are suffering eveyday from hatred and racism attacks, new article by Haaretz"
uhhh no. Learn to read. This is not what the article says.

. As far as I've been told Ahk, Christians in Jerusalem are treated just fine, even catered to. Bethlehem especially lays it on for the Christians this time of year. Christians are also welcome to join the Kibutzes in Israel if they so choose. My wife was and she is still in touch with her kibutz by way of her mentor from way back. If you spend so much time on it, you are considered a 'Sabra', and that is for life that you will be welcomed in Israel. -Terry .

Christians are also welcome to join the Kibutzes in Israel but are not welcome to join the citizenship. I personally know Christians from Israel who applied for refuge in Canada. They got their windows broken by stones while celebrating Christmas. Depends on a place. Some places are mor tolerant. But u WILL hear things like "if you're Christian why the hell did u come here? Go back, this is the place for Jews." Taken from Muslims, barred for Christians. Immigration policies are like that of KSA: u may come to work, but don't expect citizenship.

. My wife wanted to join the paratroopers. Her father sent her to a kibutz saying he would rather have a live Sabra than a dead hero. BTW Peisi, my wife DOES have a dual Israeli/Australian passport/citizenship. .

When did it happen?- and what's about the situation inside Israel? Welcome to the Board Shehrazad! People from all over and from all ethnicities and religions are here. Have fun and have a thick skin too (in some cases). I'm not hitman but I'll answer the orthodox jew part. It seems the Orthodox crowd at the wall take offence when non-believers approach, especially if they are in shorts or show symbols of other religions etc and proceed to throw rocks at them. At that point the Israeli soldiers try to keep the crazies in line, shooting in the air if needed. What is funny is that when my wife was there as a little girl, she threw the rocks BACK and nailed a few of them. Boy didn't that stir them up (the bloody rocks are 'holy' too) before the Soldiers shot in the air, stepped in and took control! -Terry .

hello Terry, In my part, I made a little bit of research: "a 2006 poll of Palestinian Christians in Bethlehem, 90% reported having Muslim friends, 73.3% agreed that the Palestinian Authority treats Christian heritage in the city with respect and 78% attributed the ongoing exodus of Christians from Bethlehem to the Israeli blockade on the town" short documentaries christians situation in palestine http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=8QHzuYcuIQYhttp://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=yOdR5JTH0-AShehrazad
