The only explicit reference to the hijab, burka etc. in Muslim scripture (insofar as I am aware) is where, in the hadith, it indicates that the wives of Muhammed were veiled. Because of this, Muslim women are required to wear some form of veil.

The hadith also states that Muhammed married a six year old girl and had sex with her when she was nine. Does this not mean that Islam justifies pedophilia? I do know that Ayatollah Khomeni set the age of consent at nine and said that if you had sex with a girl younger than that it was still only a misdemeanor.

So how do Muslims rationalize that one away?
