I don't understand how you can dismiss emotion so easily. Assuming it to be a material mechanism, is it not rational?

The greatest proof for any God or Supreme being will always be the personal experience, the perception.  All ideas or conclusions are based on perception; isn't emotion a perception?

I don't know what kind of education you got there in Texas, mr.cowboy but me as a person never wanted to hear sado-masochism of religion with all evil and good stories. Religion forces you to do something not tell ppl what they ant to hear. On other note you don't know whether religion is true or false so shut up because at the end you will never prove religious person that you are right even if you fail to express yourself to atheists.

Jane, face it. Popele have opinions and we are better served by people voicing them.

You feel this is true, except you want your voice to be the only one heard. You are a hypocrite.
You may feel that a perfect society is one in which peopel are respectful of all opinions, but that is not a perfect society. It is a society in which children die from ignorance.  Its a society without progress.

Perhaps if you were better at voicing your opinion, and had a clear idea, you would feel differently.  Maybe you would even feel an obligation to lead.  Until then, you are simply trying to stifle any meaningful conversation so your wimp, weak voice can be finally heard.

Well, then enjoy whispering into the storm, because while you are being effectively silenced by your lack of conviction, others are grabbing the ears of politicians and affecting legislation that may force you to accept certain religious values of they remain unopposed.

The right for an abortion is constantly threatened in our country based on the religious convinctions of a minority.  If it weren't for people like me, abortions would be illegal and prayer would be the preferred method of medical treatment.

hahaha  Nope.  But people voting for legal abortion are still the Majority. The Minority are predominately Xians (as are the Majority, but mixed in are predominately Secularists or Liberal Xians)
