Johnny Podres, who pitched the Brooklyn Dodgers to their only world series title in 1955, has died at the age of 75. From the Associated Press.

Bummer. First one of 08.

Sadly, Tommy Byrne, Podres' opponent in game seven, died himself less than a month ago on December 20, 2007. He was 88.
