Burrell: I lied to Di inquest

Quote from: The Sun
SHAMEFUL Paul Burrell has sensationally confessed he LIED to the Princess Diana inquest – and could now face arrest.

The Sun has uncovered a bombshell video tape on which Di’s former butler Burrell brags of committing perjury.

I know The Sun is Britain's most scandolous tabloid... but the video is there for those that want to see.

I guess that old joke about the Queen greasing the brakes isn't as funny as it used to be Undecided ...

Just curious as to what other, more informed people have to say.

The mother of the King, married with a muslim? The King with muslims brothers?

I can hardly believe it was an accident.

Its hard to take what this guy says seriously. He has perjured himself in court, made a packet out of his two books about Lady Di and associated notoriety. He could be telling the truth but he just comes across as an unreliable guy who can't stop bulltishing.

BTW if he is found guilty of perjury in the UK, is he still able to claim US citizenship like he is trying for?

They let his dad own Harrods. That was even more of a scandal for England haha

Well, I don't know what they call it in the UK, but if someone was subpoenaed before a Congressional Grand Jury in the US, I doubt they could get a UK citizenship.

Surely he'll be subpoenaed... right?

I don't see what's the point with the hier to the throne having half-brother muslim.
Ok, that sounds wierd, but what the hell? Diana was divorced, her and her children would have had no influence at all on the course of the royal family history.
She could have children with Osama bin Laden in person, that would not influence from one iota the story of the UK.

+Nobody has ever said that she was pregnant or that her love affair with Dodi would survive the summer.
Except Dodi's father who is IMO half crazy.

why would monarchial persons interest anyone besides senile housewives? Unless it's an interest in abolishing monarchy altogether.

The few British "subjects" I've spoken with seem very pro-monarchy.

The subversive elements to the crown that were preasent when Diana died seem to have lost ground... considerably. But this is an outside observation, so it's really whorth nothing. It's based just on what I hear around on other forums.

european royal families had played the role of pop-culture celebrities mixed with museums. Now that we have Brittney Spear's crotch permanently available for paparazzis, the need for royalty goes down. They may, however, be useful for the studies of genetic in-breeding.

IMO it will pick up again once William is king. If you hear him interviewed you can't help but be impressed. He has everything, hollywood looks, wit, charm, everything.

One of the funniest royal clips is when Charles, Harry and William are skiing at some resort. The reporters ask Charles when he is going to marry Camilla, and Charles goes beserk at the reporter. William has to take control of the interview.

Princess Diana is a Paparazzi subject that doesn't seem to die soon, like Paris Hilton or Britney Spears cases.
In all cases, I read the latest stuff in the newspaper, when I'm sitting on the john, after which I use the paper for a more useful purpose.
At least Hilton and Britney are some sexy chicks, but Di, for god's sake man, you must have low self esteem to put her on the same level with the dummy chicks.

ew.

I'm gonna pretend like you didn't say that...

Well, she was intelagent and charming... and to have both, plus a decent face and body (at her age)... as an American, I was impressed.

IMO it will pick up again once William is king.

Charles, maybe. It seems everyone hates Charles.

But William? I thought everyone loved him? I thought everyone hopes that Charles will pass the crown on to William immediately?

Thats what I mean. The royals popularity will soar once William is king. He has lots going for him. Even Harry has a lot of personality.

Can't believe you guys are discussing the British Royal family...men are interested in this?

Paul Burrell is notoriously temperamental.  He was prosecuted for stealing Royal property and got a terrible press for talking about Diana after her death.  He is, however, the one who knew most about her.

He is unreliable because of his temperament, the press are likely to blow up anything he says as he is one of those entertaining characters the public love to hear about.

Honestly... I'm a little jealous, actually. America doesn't have this kinda thing.

I mean, we have our "fore fathers" and if I had any of their blood in my family I'd be proud... but the politics of the royal family has always kinda intrested me since Diana died.
