Is that some kind of defense mechanism for a candidate with absolutely no qualifying experience? How is highlighting an incredible weakness by contrasting it with the resume of an accomplished man doing your candidate any good?

The press is tied up with examaning Rev. Wright. OswaldTheOsprey exactly, it was only a couple of weeks ago when people started posting about what would happen to Dems now that McCain has won the Republican primary. Not even two weeks after that we have the Wright controversy and Clinton and Obama bickering on the Florida and Michigan votes. Like I said it only gets worst for the Democratics this is just the start.

Well, the FL and MI things are "Dead On Arrival"... so that's one less thing for them to worry about.

The do-over proposals are "DOA" but isn't the issue still alive? Do Clinton's delegates count? Could be quite bitter. OswaldTheOsprey

Well, if it's truely up to the states, then I'm pretty sure it's over... but I guess that won't stop Hillary from pissing and moaning about the "grave injustice", etc., etc..

Either McCain is conflating all extremists with Al Qaida on purpose (like bush did), or he is so out of touch that he doesn't notice the difference. You should find either case to be extremely troubling. Understanding of the nature of the conflict is supposed to be his strong point and he is confusing the fundamentals at this late stage in the game??

You should find either case to be extremely troubling. I don't find it troubling at all. The fact that Iran is letting people in to train only to let them return to Iraq to fight us was the them to the message. Not which club they belong to. I find it more troubling that Obama would walk away from Iraq, letting Iran fill the vacuum of power and not understand the results of THAT action...all the while saying that we would come back IF Al Qaida sets up camp. What will we do, ask to see their incorporation papers?

Well I guess that you would like to have war with all of the Muslim world. They are all bad guys and they are all the same. If one group perpetrated 911 then they all perpetrated 911. We will have war with all of them forever... If this your view, then McCain is your guy.

Let me remind you that that didn't work out well the first time we tried it.

Is this an endorsement to go back to ignoring terrorism? Let me remind you that that didn't work out well the first time we tried it. What I am endorsing is taking the time and paying attention enough to know who are the threat and and who are not the threat. Let me remind you that not making that differentiation is why we are in the mess we are in, in Iraq now. Bush banked on the fact that as a nation we wouldn't notice there are different factions and degrees of "bad guys" in the region so he could start his little war for oil profit. At the time he was right, not many noticed the difference. The smartest thing we could do now is to make friends and allies in the ME. To do that we must at least appear to understand whats going on and who are who, instead of wanting to occupy and battle them all forever.

What I am endorsing is taking the time and paying attention enough to know who are the threat and and who are not the threat. I agree. I think the idea Iran would let people (call them what you will) into their country to train and likely be armed only to come back and fight the US may qualify as posing a 'threat.' So McCain was right although he labeled incorrectly.
