What I am endorsing is taking the time and paying attention enough to know who are the threat  and and who are not the threat.

I agree.

I think the idea Iran would let people (call them what you will) into their country to train and likely be armed only to come back and fight the US may qualify as posing a 'threat.'

So McCain was right although he labeled incorrectly.
These forces would not be a threat to US citizens if the US wasn't occupying their country.
It doesn't matter what I will call them ...it does matter what a presidential candidate will call them.
 McCain is wrong.

I believe he made the same misstatement numerous time before finally being corrected by Liberman.  It does call into question his age and how well his mind is still working at the age of 72, then again, it could have just been a simple mistake.

A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.

In America, anyone can be president. That\\\'s one of the risks you take.

It could have been his age, a simple mistake or it could be he doesn't give a damn and wants to war on all of them.

What do you have to back this up? The vast majority of the population isn't taking shots at our troops. Neither do they go to Iran for training.

How can one explain this?
