New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, a superdelegate and himself a former presidential candidate, is endorsing Sen Barack Obama for president. The Governor is a former Clinton administration member. From the AP.

Looks like it is clearing the way for an Al Gore and Edwards endorsement as well.  I am guessing Edwards endorses Obama 3 days before the NC primary.

I think Edwards will wait because he wants the vp nod, and will hold off endorsing anyone till he gets a better idea who will win the nomination.  Richardsons endoresement is not huge but nice for Obama.

Richardson may have vp ambitions himself. After all, Obama was weak with hispanics in the Texas primary.

Edwards carries no sway in NC.

Let me rephrase...and Edwards endorsement might mean something in Charlotte and Raleigh and on our liberal college campuses. Other than that, I don't really see it. Edwards isn't highly liked in NC, as far as I can tell.
