Polling orgs would have disappeared long ago if they were "dumb" or "useless."
I'm not sure I agree. Politicos really want to know what's happening, and I'd suggest even if radio psychics were the only hope, they'd still be buying. That said I'd expect polls and polling places to be in line, if that's what the poll writer wants.
That's nonsense. You don't hire a pollster and say, here's the results I want. That's a waste of money. You hire a pollster to test the market and steer your message toward it. Polls are not used to predict so much as get a gauge on opinion and try to change said opinion. Yes, "Politicos really want to know what's happening," and so does the media and corporations. They are not stupid and they like their money just like you do. They pay a lot for polls because they work.
Yeah, sure, they'd hire radio psychics, yeah, sure... Well, that was easy to say, not so much to prove.
This is America, money talks, bullshit walks. But you keep believing the media if you like. They know polls work, that's why they pay for them, so do politicians and corporations. Polls are just not always good for a neat headlines.
