YAWN. The for momentum was 30 states ago...when Obama got the momentum. If you would have been paying attention, everybody knew she would win there. SINCE MARCH. When she wins in Indiana, you'll post this same nonsense. Yes, we know she will win Indiana. And the same day Obama will crush her in NC. Then it's Montana, guam and Puerto Rico and Obama will still hold the popular and delegate vote. I must have had to eat pasta 4 nights a week because we were rich... I had nothing growing up as my dad was uneducated, but a hard worker who provided food and a home for his family. He gave us something more important then money he gave us a work ethic. He never took a dime from anyone for anything... He did not believe in credit or asking the state for help. If we could not afford it we did not get it.. That included cable TV, Video Games, eating out, or even a BASIC color TV in 1989 we still had a BW TV that was prob 10 years old. People on welfare today have cable TV, nice furniture and eat well because my dad worked his ass off as I do to provide for not only me but the lazy pieces of poop that don't want to work for a living like you. My dad taught me to SAVE my money... He taught me that buying the new Big screen TV was not as important as making sure you family will NEVER be hungry. He taught me to rely on my own hard work and not the hard work of others. I started working at 13 and the reason I did not go to college is when he got sick at 65 I helped support my family and pay those bills because his Union did not pay for his medical bills after he lost his sheet metal worker job from being sick. So listen up kid.. I am a man that knows what its like to rise up from poverty and not the so called poverty of today where cable TV and name brand food is thought to be a right. Where people think its OK to live of the hard work of others, because the government makes it so easy. In my home as a kid I had tap water.. not bottled water or soda... Before I go ahead and jump into the middle of a spitting contest to debate who was worse off as a kid, I'd like to talk about something Reaganite brought up in his last post - namely the social defenition of poverty. I'm as against the concept of a "welfare state" as you are, Reaganite, but I hardly think cable TV is an example of oppulant living. When parents can't afford day care (and given the cost of day care these days, there are many who can't), TV can act as an impromptu babysitter. It's a sad reflection of the population, but what other choice do they have? If a mother and/or father is working their tail off to afford the house, how can they afford to watch a child all day? Granted, if they couldn't properly care for a child they never should have had one in the first place, but it happens, and I was wondering what kind of work ethic people are missing because they use TVs like babysitters. Tap water today is polluted with various chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs, making botteled water the only safe source for hydration. Also, making pancakes sometimes isn't an option when a mother has to be a secretary in the morning and a waitress at night. Granted, McDonalds isn't a and shouldn't be staple of the poor, but sometimes poptarts is all a family has time for. I would also wager that the price of deli meats has risen since you were a kid. ... kids dressed much better then I had the privilege to eat. Are you suggesting the poor dress well today? Again, I'm not disagreeing with your point, but rather the examples you've used to support it. The world has changed a great deal since you were a kid, Reaganite, and what were luxeries then can be made and sold on the cheap now, and what may have come easy for you back then is much harder to get today. |
