I didn't know where to put this.  I hope it's okay here.

Link to Survey

Some background...  I have been doing some work on creation myths over various societies throughout history.  In doing so, I've become interested in modern creation myths as well and wondered if there were any prevailing attitudes, backgrounds, etc...that helped formulate them.

I appreciate all your input - both here and on the survey.

Answered your survey. Can I ask what you are trying to prove/find out?

I would be inclined to help if I got the feeling you would become a regular contributor to our little community...otherwise I would just feel dirty and used just for you to get the information you are looking for........

I'm simply looking for correlations between various factors.

I'm simply looking for correlations between various factors.

...possible correlations between nationality, education level, position on human origin with regard to beliefs in aliens and various religious / pseudo-religious practices...

Doesn't matter now...  Some idiot on another forum took it upon his vile self to ruin the survey.

Some beliefs I've seen about aliens do often tend toward new creation myths, but I doubt I have any particular insight into them.  I do find it odd that some who are so dismissive of traditional religious beliefs are so credulous in this area

Well, for someone who embraces science and cares little for the traditional moral constraints and accountability that go with it, a religion like Raelism would fit perfectly.  What Rael did was claim that the Elohim of the Bible were actually technologically-advanced extraterrestrials that created mankind.  In other words, Rael claims that God does not exist - period.  He teaches his followers that cloning is the method by which we achieve eternity.  He embraces a geniocracy - a world ruled by intellectual elites.  He also advocates sex in just about every way, shape, and form.  Now, can you see how this might appeal to someone who poo poos traditional religious beliefs?
