Its funny that you actually think they really want an apology. Just as you teach our kids about WWII, we want you to teach them about slavery. Just as you teach our kids about Abraham Lincoln, we want you to teach them about slavery. Just as you teach our kids about the Holocaust, we want you to teach them about slavery. Just as you teach our kids that Columbus discovered America, we want to you to teach our kids about slavery. Just as the media talk about these things year after year, anniversary after anniversary we want them to also talk about slavery. This is the "apology" that most seek, and not the "I am sorry" apology that your ignorance refuse to profess.

Kids ARE taught about slavery for heaven's sake!!!!  What do you want them to do, teach little white kids how to hate themselves, their ancestors, and self flagellate?

I've got a better idea.  Why don't we, as a nation, put color and racism behind us and be one nation?

As for the ad hominem, that is completely unnecessary.  You don't know me nor my level of education / intelligence.
Kids aren't taught much and slavery is called horrible and evil, but what it actually was and what it  involved are glossed over.  Forced labor was nothing compared with institutionalized sexual abuse and other actions which essentially treated them as objects.  To illustrate this who here knows anything of Harriet Ann Jacobs without looking her up?
Can you connect Bonnie to Clyde?  Himmler to Hitler?  Kruschev to Stalin?

Why can't a "friend of a friend" be used to connect?
They look like really good friends today. Roll Eyes

Does anybody seriously believe Obama holds any of the views that this maniac has?

I'm not even an Obama fan, and I don't believe that.

I don't think he holds these views. It does show me he's not strong enough to take a hard stand, though. I think the Reverand was right about one thing...Obama will say what he needs to say to get elected.

I'm going to elaborate a little more than I did earlier.

A. All politicians say what they need to get elected. Every word they say is run under a microscope.

B. Nobody can tell me that his reactions when it comes to Wright has any bearing on what he will be as a President. Like I said, every word that comes out of these peoples' mouths is calculated to find the best possible way to get elected (or more accurately, what is calculated to be the least damaging).

C. Since nobody believes that Obama holds 1/1000 of the views Wright has, and that whatever any politician says is posturing, then this whole story means nothing.

If it takes Obama 20 years to notice that his pastor is a traitorous, racist nut-job, it will probably take him his full term of office to realize that the U.S. has been invaded and subdued by al-Qaida. Let's just hope President Obama pays closer attention during national security briefings than he did during 20 years of the Rev. Wright's church services.

Nobody's denying what Wright is.

It's whether Obama agrees with the opinions because he heard them.

I disagree.
