Yeah…well….I just couldn’t resist  Grin

An Israeli-German was arrested in Lebanon a couple of days ago on charges of espionage and murder. He speaks fluent Arabic that he learned in the UAE and has visited Lebanon 11 times since 2005.

Lebanon arrests Israeli for murder, espionage

Quote
A dual citizen of Israel and Germany has been arrested in Lebanon on charges of espionage, a Lebanese judicial source said yesterday. Security officials said the man, Daniel Sharon, has been handed over to military intelligence for questioning.

According to Lebanese publication Al-Akhbar Wa-Sapir, Sharon was arrested on Thursday as part of an investigation into the murder of a Lebanese citizen. During questioning, it emerged that Sharon had visited Lebanon 11 times on his German passport over the last two years. He denied allegations that he was on an espionage mission and said he was in Lebanon for leisure purposes, according to the source.

Media reports said that police in the Merje area, a hotbed of the Lebanese Shi'ite Hezbollah movement in Beirut's southern suburbs, were investigating the killing of Moussa al-Shalaani when the probe led them to Sharon.

Al-Shalaani had been shot with a gun belonging to a security officer who had been his roommate. The roommate was summoned for questioning, and maintained he had lost his gun. The roommate also said that at the time of the murder, he had been with a German friend, who was staying at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Beirut's luxurious Verdun neighborhood. A hotel employee told the police that Sharon had paid him not to write his full name on any documents.

"His conflicting testimonies led the authorities to arrest him, and further investigations are underway in a murder case and espionage," the judicial source said.

His defense? Well he denies the charges and says he is gay and comes to Lebanon to meet Lebanese men. He is a big spender though and he has paid for a number of trips for his Lebanese security friend abroad in exchange for his help.

Quote
"He is denying charges of espionage and insists that he is gay and likes to have sexual relations with Lebanese men and that is why his visits to Lebanon were frequent," the source said.

What does his father say for his defense?

The guy is a devout muslim  Roll Eyes

When asked if Daniel was an Israeli spy, Moshe Sharon said "No, no, there is no chance. This boy doesn't even smoke, he doesn't drink, he's not a criminal."

The two stories don’t add up, i.e. being a devout “convert” and gay.

Besides "coming to Lebanon because he likes having sexual relations with Lebanese men:? I mean if he had said it was to see a lover that he was madly in love with, it would be more plausible. Don't you think?

So spy or no spy? What do you think?

Well, the thing I can't work out is how they escaped from Mexico to get to Lebanon  Tongue

Only kidding! Untouchables would definately be touching his 'untouchables' when he reads this thread.

But the beauty of this story is, wait..... there is actually foundation to it. Halellulah ! No more looking through Stormfront, David Duke and Iamthewitness sites. All I had to do was search the news and I had 60 news services who covered this story. What is going on? This is not the ME section I know. Where is the David Duke and Rense references?

Anyway, good thread Cedar.

Umm, well back to the story, I looked through a fair few stories, and couldn't really decide either way. It is hard with these espioage stories because you cannot tell if they are disclosing all the facts or not. Anyway, I am sure more facts will emerge as time goes on.

Anyway, here is another report of it;

Quote
JERUSALEM (AP) — The father of an Israeli who has been arrested in Lebanon insisted on Sunday that his son is not a spy, saying the young man converted to Islam several years ago and immersed himself in Arab culture.

Lebanese officials announced the arrest of Daniel Sharon on Saturday and said they had handed him over for military interrogation because he visited Lebanon frequently. The incident has threatened to inflame tensions between the enemy states.

Sharon, who is in his early 30s, has Israeli and German citizenship and entered Lebanon on his German passport. On Sunday, his father, Moshe Sharon, told Israel's Army Radio that his son had only good intentions.

He told of a man who, in searching for his identity, had converted to Islam several years ago and was the first Israeli to study in Jordan after a peace treaty was signed between the countries in 1994.

When asked if Daniel was an Israeli spy, Moshe Sharon said "No, no, there is no chance. This boy doesn't even smoke, he doesn't drink, he's not a criminal."

Daniel was "childish" and it's possible that he could get mixed up "with the wrong people and didn't know what he was getting into," Sharon said.

The younger Sharon had visited Lebanon 11 times in the past two years using his German passport and was arrested by police at a Beirut hotel Thursday, Lebanese officials said.

The elder Sharon said he learned about the matter through the press on Saturday. The Israeli Foreign Ministry told him Saturday evening that authorities were dealing with the matter.

"We are feeling totally helpless because we are an enemy country and there is nothing I can do besides receive information about him and let the authorities deal with it," Sharon said, adding that he feared that his son could be held in Lebanon for years.

The Foreign Ministry said Sunday that it was looking into the matter but had no further comment.

The younger Sharon's mother has German citizenship, Moshe Sharon said, and the German authorities have told her they are looking into her son's case.

Sharon said he did not know his son was in Lebanon, but believed he was in Cyprus.

Lebanese police also arrested a Lebanese security agent over his relations with Sharon since the two maintained contacts through the Internet, the Lebanese security officials said.

The Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar reported Saturday that the man's arrest came after an investigation into the murder of a Lebanese citizen found dead in Beirut's southern suburbs.

Police found that the victim had been shot with a gun belonging to a security officer who had been the victim's roommate, the paper said. When questioned by authorities, the roommate said that he had lost his gun and was with a German friend who was staying at a Beirut hotel when the killing occurred, the paper said.

Police later went to the hotel and detained the German friend for questioning, it added. They later discovered that he was also Israeli.

During a preliminary interrogation, police grew suspicious over the nature of the Israeli man's visits to Lebanon and other Arab countries, his financial spending and his ability to speak Arabic, according to the paper's report.

The man claimed that his visits to Lebanon were for tourism and to see friends, report said. Lebanon forbids any contacts with Israel.

During Israel's 18-year occupation of a border strip in southern Lebanon, Lebanese authorities arrested and jailed many people on charges of spying or working for Israel. Israel pulled out of Lebanon in 2000.

In October 2000, an Israeli reserve colonel, Elhanan Tannenbaum, was captured by the Lebanese guerrilla group Hezbollah after he was lured to the Persian Gulf on a false passport. Tannenbaum was held for more than three years before he was released in a prisoner swap.

Yeah...it does have a strange feeling to it, doesn't it?  Cheesy

Well...one thing is for sure. No matter how long you live in a country, there is always something new to learn. Lebanon has always been known for its rich heritage, its fine cuisine, its lifestyle, its beautiful women.....I have never known it to be a homosexual's paradise to "literally" die for though Grin

The guy who was killed does not necessarily have to be important. He could have discovered who the guy was or that he was Israeli and threatened to blow his cover. Or he could have threatened his roommate who is in the Lebanese security forces to take the story to the authorities. It could be a simple case of blackmail  Huh?

And if you can prove that Syria killed the "other guy", we would be grateful as we can seriously use the evidence  Roll Eyes

Why? If Islam gives him oportunities to meet other men?

No what is wierd is that the only Mossad agent suspected so far is a half german gay muslim convert. The Mossad should have many more spies in Lebanon.

interesting story.

Clearly the man isn't a gay Muslim convert, but I am finding it hard to believe he is Mossad although its not impossible.  It would be a very sloppy job on Mossads part.  Why would they send there own people to commit a murder with a fire arm?  Especially a skilled Arabic speaker?  If it was an operative or an agent is was poor one...and a poor case officer that coordinated it.

The gayman was released and only reason why he was arrested was the fact he had dual citizenship (Israeli and German),,, I don't know why Israeli/German gay needed Lebanese hot guys but i'm fully for gays from around the world start having sex with Arabs and Persians,,,

The other non sens in this story is that they pretended that the Israelo-German converted to homosexualism. AFAIK you are gay or you arn't but you don't become one through conversion.

thats actually debated...some believe that people can change their sexual orientation.

drugs can help accelerate that sometimes.

sexually you would enjoy man as much as woman but what keeps us doing it is religious education for some 2000 years,,, so you can break religious moral laws in few conversations + alcohol or other stimulant,,,

you can convert person if not to gay but to bi-sexual because thats the way we born
