As the President of the most powerful nation George Bush should have been more careful and should have recalled the great statement of his predecessor Abraham Lincoln, "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."

just read Bush statement for Indian and Chinese and judge....what does he actually want?

How ironic you should say that. Bush had a famously muddled up version of that quote, but he has no idea it is from Lincoln and isn't sure exactly what it is, confusing it with a Who song: "There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again."

I think you ask too much...

Actually, the name of the song is 'Won't get fooled again'...and you had the benefit of research and retyping. I guess even the most brilliant are subject to error.

LOL! Yeah, I know the who song. That's why I said "confusing" it with the Who song, not "exactly quoting" the Who song. Nice try.

It's cool. Everybody makes mistakes. Man-ing up to the mistake is a sign of maturity.

So is this you "manning up" to your mistake of, you know, misreading what I said to invent an "error" on my part? Because it reads awful coy.

If he confused it with a Who song, then he didn't have the Who song right either. Sounds like Bush isn't the only one confused.

...........what does he actually want?

If you havn't noticed....election season is in full swing....."what he (Bush) actually wants" gets more irrelevant everyday.

Very true. He only has a few months to bring back slavery and to get the church burnings moving. After all, we were told that was his agenda.

Oh... that's right. They never actually caught Osama Bin Laden yet.

Also, even if we did have OBL ready for an "October Surprise" it wouldn't make any difference. Al Quida is still just as strong as they were in 2001... and it's amazing you don't hear about it in the news anywhere. I mean, here's a report that says Al Quida is determined to attack inside the US... and no one talks about it.

The last time this happened 3,000 people died. Let's see if anyone tries to save the next 3,000.

That's the question, isn't it? WHO is going to step up and be strong? WHO is going to go after the bad guys?

The hint is this...who is complained so far in the little bit of effort we have made? Who has demanded attorneys be sent to Gitmo? Who has stood in the way of wiretaps even AFTER they prove effective?

THESE are the questions that need answering. Not questions about the reverand.

McCain's concentration on Iraq shows me that HE isn't the right guy. Hillary's concentration on the Iranian Republic Guard shows me that SHE isn't the right guy. Obama's willingness to try diplomacy is encouraging... but his lack of opinion on Pakistan is discouraging.

Basically... we're fucked no matter what.

"Effort" doesn't create results.

And we have had NO results. None. Al Quida is no weaker than when we started, but now they have a bunch of people in Iraq that hate us too.

Very true. I just wish the midia understood what was important.
