I don't care if it rains or freezes...

Early one mornin' the sun was shinin',
I was layin' in bed
Wond'rin' if she'd changed at all
If her hair was still red.
Her folks they said our lives together
Sure was gonna be rough
They never did like Mama's homemade dress
Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough.
And I was standin' on the side of the road
Rain fallin' on my shoes
Heading out for the East Coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through,
Tangled up in blue.

She was married when we first met
Soon to be divorced
I helped her out of a jam, I guess,
But I used a little too much force.
We drove that car as far as we could
Abandoned it out West
Split up on a dark sad night
Both agreeing it was best.
She turned around to look at me
As I was walkin' away
I heard her say over my shoulder,
"We'll meet again someday on the avenue,"
Tangled up in blue.

I had a job in the great north woods
Working as a cook for a spell
But I never did like it all that much
And one day the ax just fell.
So I drifted down to New Orleans
Where I happened to be employed
Workin' for a while on a fishin' boat
Right outside of Delacroix.
But all the while I was alone
The past was close behind,
I seen a lot of women
But she never escaped my mind, and I just grew
Tangled up in blue.

She was workin' in a topless place
And I stopped in for a beer,
I just kept lookin' at the side of her face
In the spotlight so clear.
And later on as the crowd thinned out
I's just about to do the same,
She was standing there in back of my chair
Said to me, "Don't I know your name?"
I muttered somethin' underneath my breath,
She studied the lines on my face.
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe,
Tangled up in blue.

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type."
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you,
Tangled up in blue.

I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs,
There was music in the cafes at night
And revolution in the air.
Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died.
She had to sell everything she owned
And froze up inside.
And when finally the bottom fell out
I became withdrawn,
The only thing I knew how to do
Was to keep on keepin' on like a bird that flew,
Tangled up in blue.

So now I'm goin' back again,
I got to get to her somehow.
All the people we used to know
They're an illusion to me now.
Some are mathematicians
Some are carpenter's wives.
Don't know how it all got started,
I don't know what they're doin' with their lives.
But me, I'm still on the road
Headin' for another joint
We always did feel the same,
We just saw it from a different point of view,
Tangled up in blue.

Goin' down the road feelin' bad.
Goin' down the road feelin' bad.
Goin' down the road feelin' bad.
I don't want to be treated this away.

Goin' where the climate suits my clothes.
Goin' where the climate suits my clothes.
Goin' where the climate suits my clothes.
I don't want to be treated this away.

Goin' down the road feelin' bad.
Goin' down the road feelin' bad.
Goin' down the road feelin' bad.
I don't want to be treated this away.

Goin' where the water tastes like wine.
Goin' where the water tastes like wine.
Goin' where the water tastes like wine.
I don't want to be treated this away.

Goin' down the road feelin' bad.
Goin' down the road feelin' bad.
Goin' down the road feelin' bad.
I don't want to be treated this away.

Goin' where the chilly winds don't blow.
Goin' where the chilly winds don't blow.
Goin' where those chilly winds don't blow.
I don't want to be treated this away.

St. Anger round my neck
St. Anger round my neck
He never gets respect
St. Anger round my neck

(Its rushing out, Its rushing out)
St. Anger round my neck
(It's rushing out, It's rushing out)
He never gets respect
(It's rushing out, It's rushing out)
St. Anger round my neck
(It's rushing out, It's rushing out)
He never gets respect

Fuck it all and no regrets
I hit the lights on these dark sets
I need a voice to let myself
To let myself go free
Fuck it all and fuck regrets
I hit the lights on these dark sets
Medallion noose I hang myself
St. Anger round my neck

I feel my world shake
I can't look away
Hard to see clear
Is it me
Or is it fear?

I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you

St. Anger round my neck
St. Anger round my neck
He never gets respect
St. Anger round my neck

(Its rushing out, Its rushing out)
St. Anger round my neck
(It's rushing out, It's rushing out)
He never gets respect
(It's rushing out, It's rushing out)
St. Anger round my neck
(It's rushing out, It's rushing out)
He never gets respect

I want my anger to be healthy
I want my anger just for me
I need my anger not to control
I want my anger to be me

I need set my anger free
I need to set my anger free
Set it free!

Fuck it all and no regrets
I hit the lights on these dark sets
I need a voice to let myself
To let myself go free
Fuck it all and fucking no regrets
I hit the lights on these dark sets
Medallion noose I hang myself
St. Anger round my neck

The Richest Man in Babylon
by Thievery Corporation

There is no guidance in your kingdom
Your wicked walk in Babylon
There is no wisdom to your freedom
The richest man in babylon

Your beggars sleep outside your doorway
Your prophets leave to wonder on
You fall asleep at night with worry
The saddest man in Babylon

Whoooooa oh oh oh oh whoa oh who oh oh
Whooooooa oh oh oh
Whoa oh oh o oh

The wicked stench of exploitation
Hangs in the air and lingers on
Beneath the praise and admiration
The weakest man in Babylon

Whoooooa oh oh oh oh whoa oh who oh oh
Whooooooa oh oh oh
Whoa oh oh o oh

There is no hope left in your kingdom
Your servants have burned all their songs
Nobody here remembers freedom
The richest man in Babylon

Si la lou babylon go 'dain
Babylon gon' be rich again
But to we don' sick again
But no we no weak again

You know those nights when you sleep,

And it's completely dark and absolutely silent,

And you don't dream, there's only  blackness?

This is the reason: it's because on those nights

You've gone away.

On those nights you're in someone else's dream.

You're busy in someone else's dream.

And Im free, free fallin

All the vampires walkin through the Valley
Move west down Ventura Boulevard
And all the bad boys are standing in the shadows
A ll the good girls are home with broken hearts

And Im free, free fallin
Yeah Im free, free fallin
Free fallin, now Im free fallin, now im
Free fallin, now Im free fallin, now im

I wanna glide down over Mulholland
I wanna write her name in the sky
Gonna free fall out into nothin
Gonna leave this world for a while

And Im free, free fallin
Yeah Im free, free fallin

Before Dishonor by Hatebreed

What make you think everything is this world
that you have can be taken away?
In a world this day, it's kill or be killed.
I live each day like it might be my last.
In this lifetime few things are worth fighting for.
My Blood. Your Honor.
Everyone has a destiny.

I'll choose my own.
I will not be a victim
I'll choose my own.
My cries won't go unheard
I'll choose my own.
I got to fight for myself.
I'll choose my own.
And what I hold so true.
Destiny.

I'll choose my own destiny and I'll never let anyone take away what I hold so true.
I won't live in denial. And I won't turn the other cheek.
I must remain convicted and never accept this suffering.
I've learned from my mistakes and I've made a promise to myself.
I won't live in the past
I won't live in the past

I've been affected by your lies and I've let then hold me back.
I wasn't thinking for myself.
I wasn't living for myself.

I will not be a victim
I'll choose my own.
My cries won't go unheard
I'll choose my own.
I got to fight for myself.
I'll choose my own.
And what I hold so true.
Destiny.

What I have in my heart
What I have in my heart I'll take to my grave
I'll take to my grave

bringbackwigs this one's for you, cheers yo...

THE PIANO HAS BEEN DRINKING

The piano has been drinking
My necktie's asleep
The combo went back to New York, and left me all alone
The jukebox has to take a leak
Have you noticed that the carpet needs a haircut?
And the spotlight looks just like a prison break
And the telephone's out of cigarettes
As usual the balcony's on the make
And the piano has been drinking, heavily
The piano has been drinking
And he's on the hard stuff tonight

The piano has been drinking
And you can't find your waitress
Even with the Geiger counter
And I guarantee you that she will hate you
From the bottom of her glass
And all of your friends remind you
That you just can't get served without her
The piano has been drinking

Not me.

The piano has been drinking
And the lightman's blind in one eye
And he can't see out of the other
And the piano-tuner's got a hearing aid
And he showed up with his mother
And the piano has been drinking
Without fear of contradiction I say
The piano has been drinking

Not me.

Our Father who art in ?
Hallowed by thy glass
Thy kindom come, thy will be done
On Earth as it is in the lounges
Give us this day our daily splash
Forgive us our hangovers
As we forgive all those who continue to hangover against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver from evil and someone you must all ride home

Because the piano has been drinking
And he's your friend not mine
Because the piano has been drinking
And he's not my responsibility

The bouncer is this Sumo wrestler
Kinda cream puff casper milk toast
And the owner is just a mental midget
With the I.Q. of a fencepost
I'm going down, hang onto me, I'm going down
Watch me skate across an acre of linoleum
I know I can do it, I'm in total control
And the piano has been drinking
And he's embarassing me
The piano has been drinking

Not me.

The piano has been drinking
And the bar stools are all on fire
And all the newspapers were just fooling
And the ash-trays have retired
And I've got a feeling that the piano has been drinking
It's just a hunch
The piano has been drinking and he's going to lose his lunch
And the piano has been drinking
Not me, not me, The piano has been drinking not me

For our younger members:
WARNING: PARENTAL ADVISORY

And Im a black rainbow
And Im an ape of god
I got a face thats made for violence upon
Im a teen distortion
Survived abortion
A rebel from the waist down

I wanna thank you mom
I wanna thank you dad
For bringing this fucking world
To a bitter end
I never really hated a one true god
But the God of the people I hated

You said you wanted evolution
The ape was a great big hit
You say you want a revolution, man
And I say that youre full of shit

Were disposable teens
Were disposable teens
Were disposable teens
Were disposable
Were disposable teens
Were disposable teens
Were disposable teens
Were disposable

You said you wanted evolution
The ape was a great big hit
You say you want a revolution, man
I say that youre full of shit

The more that you fear us
The bigger we get
The more that you fear us
The bigger we get
And dont be surprised, dont be surprised
Dont be surprised when we destroy all of it

Machine Head
Clenching The Fists Of Dissent

music 5/5 ||| lyrics 2/5

War!

Do you hear revolution's call?
It's time to fight our own denial
Warmongers keep us locked in fear
Invoke the past, a moment of tears

An ugly truth
Put forth by our youth
Under the threat of patriotic brute, so

Use your rage
It is a weapon
We must now engage

Let trumpets sound our call
Or by their lives we will fall

Gnash down our teeth in hate and sing

Sing revolution’s song
Whey they say die
Die for America

War!

They sing that freedom isn’t free
It’s paid with the lives
of sons and families
Cause blood is their new currency
And oil pumps the heart of money

So fight as one
Without a f**king gun
Words are the bullets to this revolution

Use your pain
The battlegrounds, the streets are ablaze

Excess will pave their path
The winds of change, our bloodbath

Gnash down our teeth in hate and sing

Sing revolution’s song
When they say die
Die for America

Power and prejudice
Actions they use to pit against
Terror, insurgency
Words used to scare conformity
It’s propaganda, it’s their hypocrisy

Free to choose our own slavery

All suffer humanity
Fight

Fight – for all that you have
Scream – choking with foot open throat
Blind – star spangled eyes
Death – no more the truth you will hide
No, more

So how do they sleep?
While our mothers weep
They’re selling our souls
And our blood for oil

Our generation
Can be the f**king one
That overcomes the greed
of corrupt nations

Have no shame
You’re not alone in thinking
this is f**king insane

Rise up and take your stand
And curl the fingers of your hand

And I don’t know what to do
Cause I don’t have the answers
But with every ounce of strength
I’ll vow to fight this cancer

Didn’t say I want to lead
I just might let you down
Didn’t say believe in me
Just hold this common ground

I’m just as lost as you
And probably more confused
So f**king far from perfect
My mind wrecked from abuse

There’s something f**king wrong
When war takes sons and daughters
Our lambs misled to slaughter

War!
Clenching the fist of dissent
Lies!
Clenching the fist of dissent
Fear!
Clenching the fist of dissent
Change!
Clenching the fist of dissent
Changed
Clenching to hope

Institutionalized
Suicidal Tendencies, 1983

Sometimes I try to do things and it just doesn't turn out the way I wanted to. I get real frustrated and I try hard to do it and I take my time and it just doesn't work out the way I wanted to. It seems like I concentrate on it real hard but it just never work out. Everything I do and everything I try never turns out. It's like I need time to figure these things out. But there's always someone there going. Hey Mike: You know we've been noticing you've been having a lot of problems lately. You know, maybe you should get away and like, maybe you should talk about it, maybe you'll feel a lot better. And I go: No it's okay, you know I'll figure it out, just leave me alone I'll figure it out. You know I'll just work it all by myself. And they go: Well you know if you want to talk about it I'll be here you know and you'll probably feel a lot better if you talk about it. Why don’t you talk about it? And I go: No I don't want to I'm okay, I'll figure it out myself and they just keep bugging me and they just keep bugging me and it builds up inside and it builds up inside.
So you're gonna be institutionalized. You'll come out brainwashed with bloodshot eyes.
You won't have any say. They'll brainwash you until you see their way.

I'm not crazy - institutionalized
You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized
You're driving me crazy - institutionalized
They stuck me in an institution, said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help to protect me from the enemy, myself

I was in my room and I was just like staring at the wall thinking about everything. But then again I was thinking about nothing. And then my mom came in and I didn't even know she was there she called my name. And I didn't even hear it, and then she started screaming: MIKE! MIKE! And I said: What, what's the matter? And she goes: What's the matter with you? I go: There's nothing wrong mom. And she goes: Don't tell me that, you're on drugs! And I go: No mom I'm not on drugs I'm okay, I was just thinking you know why don't you get me a Pepsi? And she goes: NO you're on drugs! I go: Mom I'm okay, I'm just thinking. She goes: No you're not thinking, you're on drugs! Normal people don't act that way! I go: Mom just give me a Pepsi please! All I want is a Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me! All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me. Just a Pepsi!
They give you a white shirt with long sleeves! Tied around your back, you're treated like thieves!
Drug you up because they're lazy! It's too much work to help a crazy!

I'm not crazy - institutionalized
You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized
You're driving me crazy - institutionalized
They stuck me in an institution, said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help, to protect me from the enemy, myself

I was sitting in my room and my mom and my dad came in and they pulled up a chair and they sat down, they go: Mike, we need to talk to you. And I said: Okay what's the matter? They go: Me and your mom have been noticing lately that you've been having a lot of problems, you've been going off for no reason and we're afraid you're gonna hurt somebody, we're afraid you're gonna hurt yourself. So we decided that it would be in your best interest if we put you somewhere where you could get the help that you need. And I go: Wait, what are you talking about, we decided!? My best interest?! How can you know what's MY best interest is? How can you say what MY best interest is? What are you trying to say I'm crazy? When I went to your schools, I went to your churches; I went to your institutional learning facilities?! So how can you say I'm crazy?
They say they're gonna fix my brain. Alleviate my suffering and my pain.
But by the time they fix my head. Mentally I'll be dead.

I'm not crazy - institutionalized
You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized
You're driving me crazy - institutionalized
They stuck me in an institution, said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help, to protect me from the enemy, myself

It doesn't matter, I'll probably get hit by a car anyway.

All For Me Grog

Traditional sea shanty:

Where are me boots, me noggin', noggin' boots?
They're all gone for beer and tobacco
For the heels they are worn out and the toes are kicked about
And the soles are looking out for better weather

Well it's all for me grog, me jolly jolly grog
It's all for me beer and tobacco
For I spent all me tin with the lassies drinking gin
Far across the western ocean I must wander

Where is me shirt, my noggin', noggin' shirt?
It's all gone for beer and tobacco
For the collar is all worn, and the sleeves they are all torn
And the tail is looking out for better weather

Well it's all for me grog, me jolly jolly grog
It's all for me beer and tobacco
For I spent all me tin with the lassies drinking gin
Far across the western ocean I must wander

I'm sick in the head and I haven't been to bed
Since first I came ashore with me slumber
For I spent all me dough on the lassies movin' slow
Far across the Western Ocean I must wander

Well it's all for me grog, me jolly jolly grog
It's all for me beer and tobacco
For I spent all me tin with the lassies drinking gin
Far across the western ocean I must wander

PIGS (Three Different Ones)

Big man, pig man, ha ha charade you are.
You well heeled big wheel, ha ha charade you are.
And when your hand is on your heart,
You're nearly a good laugh,Almost a joker,
With your head down in the pig bin,
Saying "Keep on digging."
Pig stain on your fat chin.
What do you hope to find.
When you're down in the pig mine.
You're nearly a laugh,
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry.

Bus stop rat bag, ha ha charade you are.
You fucked up old hag, ha ha charade you are.
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass.
You're nearly a good laugh,
Almost worth a quick grin.
You like the feel of steel,
You're hot stuff with a hatpin,
And good fun with a hand gun.
You're nearly a laugh,
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry.

Hey you, Whitehouse,
Ha ha charade you are.
You house proud town mouse,
Ha ha charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street.
You're nearly a real treat,
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?

You gotta stem the evil tide,
And keep it all on the inside.
Mary you're nearly a treat,
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a cry.
