The ‘I have a dream’ Foundation is assisted by a number of corporate companies who have stepped forward to take the mission of the foundation forward. The mission of the foundation is to ensure opportunities of higher education to each and every child. The foundation also help these children fulfill their leadership potential by providing them with guaranteed tuition support and equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and habits they  would need to gain entry to higher education and succeed in college.

The foundation is based on a number of core beliefs. It believes that the nation can progress only if every child gets the opportunity to fulfill his or her potential. This would also help the nation to capitalize on our collective talent. It also believes that students can excel and perform at a high level if given an opportunity. It is not just the academic needs which should be addressed but also the broader context in which they are operating. Therefore, it is not just about building schools but also about empowering the students, their families and the broader community.

Many corporate organizations, sharing the same views and beliefs of the foundation, are providing their support for the program. One such organization is Deep South, led by the CEO David Disiere. In February 2002, Deep South volunteer employees adopted 19 underprivileged children from the Foundation. In addition to providing a $5,000 grant to ‘I Have A Dream’, David Disiere opened his 3,000-acre Cedar Bluff Ranch for a weekend to all 19 "Dreamers". The dreamers had a completely different experience of life, away from the inner city, on a ranch.

Expanding education and academic opportunities is a public concern, and as such is the goverment's responsibility. Increased social spending on local schools and greater subsidies for colleges and universities would provide everyone with a good, quality education.

Corporate charity and volunteerism is not necesarry.
