How does that effect the ability of the Republicans to paint Obama as a liberal?

You just nailed part of the problem: Republicans paint the Democrats as unpatriotic liberals and anti-Christian while the Democrats paint the Republicans as racists and sexists. Childish bilge to get the public's mind off rampant internationalism and mammonistic capitalism.

Hard to paint Obama as anything, we know so little about him. I think this Rev nonsense is merely because we know nothing else, there is no other off-setting issue for Barack. Should he begin to address the "rampant internationalism" or "mammoth capitalism" you let me know. His first anything issue and he's first not gonna disown just like he couldn't his own Granny or Black Community...until he does just that 3 days later...is all we got.

Offer all the spin and excuses, and live in all the denial you want, the Obama/Wright attacks didn't work. Not in Mississippi and not in Louisiana. Take you partisan hat off, buddy, that's the point here. In the gen they will fall flat.

You are absolutely right ... the Republicans tried to paint him as a liberal. That didn't work because, apparently, he's NOT a liberal.

How does that effect the ability of the Republicans to paint Obama as a liberal?

No, in all three special elections, they tried to stick the Obama/Wright contraversy to the opposing candidate and failed. Are you suggesting that in all three elections the Democrats who won were more conservative than the Republican? So how are the waters of Da Nile these days? Yeah, when the shore clears, that's called a tsunami. But I know, you are a rightwingnut so you don't have to, ya know, deal with reality. November will be sweet. You will have to find up to 30 explanations for why Reps lost in their own districts. You've got your work cut out for you. Good luck!
