I could have added this to either of two threads, "bush's legacy" or "November" so I posted it on a new one.

"Historians belonging to both parties offered a litany of historical comparisons that give little hope to the Republican...

“This should be an overwhelming Democratic victory,” said Allan Lichtman, ... whose forecasting model has correctly predicted the last six presidential popular vote winners, ...  “Republicans face what have always been insurmountable historical odds.” His system gives McCain a score on par with Jimmy Carter’s in 1980.

But the biggest obstacle in McCain’s path may be running in the same party as the most unpopular president America has had since at least the advent of modern polling. Only Harry Truman and Nixon — both of whom were dogged by unpopular wars abroad and political scandals at home — have been nearly as unpopular in their last year in office, and both men’s parties lost the presidency in the following election."

Should we cancel the election now and save the money?

Oh, why not? The article is for those who are interested and those who have been telling me since February that Obama will be "crushed" or polls don't matter. Some of us like to know how things work beyond the daily headlines and dogma.

Honestly the guy better get on it, he's made one major speech and it was a terrible one at that.

I'd rather judge the election for myself.

So he picked Gore in 2000 and was wrong huh?  lol I love how they slip that in by saying "correctly predicted the last six presidential popular vote winners,"....

Anyway The race has not even started... It would be foolish to think Obama is not going to have a few more bones fall out of his closet...

So, if McCAIN wins, will Irwin cry like a little girl?

I bet 5 dollars and a Twix that he does.

I believe McCain will win, not because he is a better candidate, not because Obama is black, not because of any reason except one.

The powers that be want McCain so they can continue their plans for the Middle East.

I admit I could be wrong, but for people like me, it doesn't matter who is elected, since I know both parties are controlled by the same groups.

I really didn't care at all who would win the presidency, but now I will be rooting for McCain, just so I can see Irwin and all those like him, cry like little girls.

That was unnecessary and a stupid comparison. I am not posting stupid rumors. I am posting serious articles about the election with useful information ABOUT THE PROCESS OF ELECTIONS as well as the election. You are like one of those cops that has nothing better to do then write j walking tickets all day. If you don't like it then lock the damn thing. Let ignorance reign! Who cares.

"Powers that be?"  Could you be a little more specific here?  This could imply anything from actual cultural/economic elites to paranoid notions about Illuminati.

It is easy to dismiss something which several Congressman, a rear admiral and numerous other well respected people have told us about.

It is not so easy to actually search for and read what they had to say.

btw, ever read George Washington's letter concerning the Illuminati?

No, of course not.

The sheeple have been so well conditioned, they are not even capable of recognizing the truth when they see it. We had a sitting president, one who the sheeple think was the greatest thing since beer was invented, who wrote the truth in a letter to socialist pig Col. Edward Mandel House, yet the sheeple just dismiss it, simply because it doesn't fit their current world view.

What does it take to get through to people? Obviously a lot more than warnings from a rear Admiral, several Congressman and a sitting president.

FDR wrote to Col. House.......

"I had a nice talk with Jack Morgan the other day. . . . J.P.M. did not seem much troubled over the gold purchasing, and confessed that he had been completely misled in regard to the Federal expenditures.

The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the Government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson . . . . The country is going through a repetition of Jackson's fight with the Bank of the United States -- only on a far bigger and broader basis. . . .

Take care of yourself and do write me soon."

Always sincerely, Franklin D Roosevelt."
