Gaza Strip blast kills three

GAZA CITY (AFP) - Three people were killed and 32 wounded, including a four-month-old baby, in an explosion in a house in the north of the Islamist-run Gaza Strip on Thursday, Palestinian medics said.
Witnesses and the Hamas movement said the blast that levelled a house in Beit Lahiya was caused by an air strike, but the Israeli military denied any involvement, saying it could have been an internal explosion....

...Hamas's Al-Aqsa television channel said the house belonged to a local commander of the military wing of the Islamist movement.

"We blame this crime on the Israeli occupation," said Hamas spokesman Taher al-Nunu in Gaza. "We are used to Israel not admitting to its crimes."

Another Hamas official, Mushir al-Masri, told Al-Aqsa: "The enemy must pay the price. We will not remain passive after this horrible crime."

Shortly after the explosion, Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired a barrage of some 15 mortar rounds and several rockets at southern Israel, moderately wounding one woman, the army and rescue services said.

Hamas says deadly Gaza blast was an accident

GAZA (Reuters) - Hamas's military wing said on Friday an explosion that killed eight Palestinians in the Gaza Strip was an accident that occurred as militants prepared to carry out a bomb attack.

Hamas initially blamed Thursday's explosion on an Israeli air strike, but the Israeli military denied involvement.

The blast flattened the two-storey house of Hamas bomb-maker Ahmed Hamouda in the northern town of Beit Lahiya, killing six Hamas fighters, a four-month-old girl and a civilian. One of the six men died of his wounds on Friday.

Hamas said Hamouda was not killed in the explosion.

"An error occurred and led to the explosion and they were martyred," said Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for the Izz El-Deen al-Qassam Brigade, Hamas's armed wing, saying the exact cause was unclear because all those involved were killed.

The brigade said in a statement the militants were putting the final touches to what they called a "special jihadi mission."

Hamas fired about 20 rockets at Israel shortly after the explosion in Beit Lahiya, an area frequently used by militants to launch rockets into the Jewish state.

As I've stated before, HAD it been Israel targeting these bomb-making terrorists, dropping a bomb on the seemingly residential house where the bombs were being built to, no doubt target innocent israelis ...we'd hear the Palestinians and Arabs crying foul (as we did when they attempted to blame it on Israel and fired mortars and rockets)... throwing out accusations about evil Israel targeting a residential house... killing innocent civilians, etc... But when Hamas is caught once again with it's pants down building bombs/explosives in residential areas, ... and there's an explosion and Palestinians die, ... it's apparently not that big of a story anymore... Hmmm.
