http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080829/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_mccain_veepstakes

DENVER - John McCain kept his vice presidential pick a closely guarded secret hours before the high-stakes announcement Friday as top prospects seemed to drop away and speculation moved to darkhorse candidate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Two GOP strategists close to the McCain campaign said all indications pointed to Palin, a self-styled "hockey mom" and political reformer. The strategists spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized by the McCain camp to discuss the matter. There was no confirmation from McCain or his advisers.

I like her story actually...

This could actually force people to vote for McCain who had no inclination to do so.

Face it McCain is old.. 72 today... He is not running at 76 if he lasts that long.  He should come out today while introducing her and say...

When I win I will not seek the nomination in 2012.. I will give America 4 years and fix what needs to be fixed.  I will not be compaining for 2012 as soon as elected as would Obama.  I will work in the best interests in AMERICA not myself.  In effect I am imposing a 4 year term limit on myself and if elected I will pass the torch to the first female president of this great country... Governer Sara Palin!

He would get a 10 pt swing wipe out Obama's convention bounce and go into the convention with full control.

Predictable, McCain wants to turn the Hillary voters to his favor.

What's really sad is that might work. Many female Hillery supporters are so sour and, well, bitchy about it they'll gladly not vote at all or for McCain without really asking themselves if that's going to be better for women as a whole.

The democrats are set to do one of two historic things: elect a woman or elect an 'African American', (if you can't fit it into one word then it doesnt fit). Seems it's only worthwhile to many if it's their historic thing.

Some interviews I've seen are so painful -- these uptight children trying to spin it like they're adults with the rationalizing of their sour grapes, all the while supporting Hillery for no better reason than she's a woman. The irony becomes downright painful when when they start claiming Hillery has more experience when what they're talking about is experience as a "wife". A rather compliant and 'keep-quiet' lil'woman at that. lol. Pathetic.

He chose that old white guy because of his experience not because he was a old white man. Unlike McCain who choses a woman just because she's a woman. I think it's obvious to anyone McCain picked her to turn the Hillary fans against Obama, not because of her experience. She has 0 foreign policy "experience" if you check her resume. Plus she's only been a governor for 2 years and that's it .So I guess experience doesn't matter to McCain all the sudden, how ironic.
