Both did the predictable.  Obama picked an older, politician who has longer years in office.  McCain picked a younger, more or less unknown official.

It shows they BOTH have children that believe in our country and have been proud of it long before Michelle decided it was a worth any pride.

But only one believes in science.
Only one didn't fire a librarian for not banning books.
Only one isn't under investigation for possibly illegally firing someone for not carrying out her illegal order, and then lying about it.
Only one wants to change the direction this country has been on for the last eight years.

which son believes that??

Quote
I value life and hate abortion, and ANYONE democrat, Liberal, conservative, republican ANYONE who choses to have achild knowing the hard road ahead to me is person of good character when it comes to THAT decision.

Do you really think I canre if they are a liberal or not? Seriously? jeeze you are clueless.

For what it is worth, I really do think you care if they are liberal or not. I believe if Joe Biden had a child with Down's Syndrome you wouldn't care less and would not look at him any differently than you do right now. Tell me I am wrong.

You see, this is the main problem with a political party using issues like Marriage, Abortion, Religion, and Family Values to win elections. You get contradictions. Big ones. Yes, you have Sarah Plain who appears to embody everything that is important to values voters - she is happily married to an apparently great husband with a lot of kids, she has a son active in the military, she is a hockey mom who clearly places family first, she obviously lives her pro-life beliefs, and she is a religious Christian woman who is very active in her church.

In short, she is a values voter's wet dream. Her running mate and the man at the top of the ticket, however, cheated on his first wife numerous times before eventually abandoning her and their 3 children together for a younger and more attractive drug addicted sugar-momma who could advance his political career. Consequently, as a values voter, how is it possible to vote for Sarah Palin but not John McCain? Or, how can you be beside yourself with disgust over Bill Clinton's infidelity but willingly overlook John McCain's?

The bottom line is you can't. Or, at least, not morally. Nonetheless, leaders of the political movement for Family Values do it all the time. Conservative leaders like Dr. James Dobson is practically coming all over the front of his pants with excitement for John McCain's V.P. pick, but chooses to consciously ignore the fact that McCain himself has lived a personal life that stands against almost everything "Focus on the Family" is trying to promote.

Therein lies the problem with one party claiming to be the party of the "Moral Majority" or of "Values Voters" and with trying to show people that your party places more importance on Family, or Morals, or Religion than the other party. Because they don't. Neither party can claim that. Yet Republicans continue to try and try and try, and sadly they continue to fail and fail and fail.

So for you to say you respect Palin for her demonstrated Family Values and the importance she places on family is false, because if it were true, you would equally disrespect John McCain for his lack of demonstrated Family Values. Like many people, your respect and loyalty is for the Republican brand itself and not any particular member within it. That is clear as day.

The FLAW in your thinking is 90% of children determined to have downs when in their mothers womb are executed.

Not many liberals and only a few conservatives have the moral fortitude to actually love a child they know way in advance will be alot of work.  So, I dont care if you are a crazy left wing liberal, moderate, or a right wisg nut job if you decide to take take responsibility for a life you chose to concieve then I will admire you for that choice.

I dont care about John McCain I think he is a sleazy man and I dont trust him.  Anyman that cheats is garbage in my eyes just like Clinton.  I dont know if McCain cheated and neither do you, but if he did or did'nt it does not change my opinion of Palin and in 2012 atfer McCain loses in 60 days Palin and Thune will be my choices.

Big whoop. Will you help the parents with ensuring that they have adequate health care, day care, good schools, a clean environment and a bright future?

Or are you going for more tax cuts for the rich, instead?

What about the irresponsible act of conceiving a child beyond the age of 40? Statistical evidence shows that a woman over 40 that makes the choice of CONCEPTION ,and make no mistake THAT is a CHOICE has an exponentially greater chance of conceiving  a Down syndrome baby.

Generally, the chance of having a Down syndrome birth is related to the mother's age. The odds of having a child with Down syndrome at age 35 are about 1 in 350. Under age 25, the odds are about 1 in 1,400. At age 40, the odds are about 1 in 100.

I for one feel that Palin demonstated a very high level of irrational irresponsibility in deciding to CONCIEVE at her age. No one is talking about abortion, or sucking out brains here,Bonzo. This is not the dark ages, the stork doesn't just "surprise" us with babies and conception is a choice.
Her level of responsibility goes down even further when we consider that after bringing a special needs child into the world she decides to pursue a political career that will no doubt keep her from her heavy parental responsibilities over the next, developmentally crucial, several years. She makes me sick!
