It never ceases to amaze me how both the Democratic and Republican parties are so inconsistant not only in their policies but their ideals. I for one have always been an independent simply because these parties have been so inconsistant and obviously incompetant for not realizing the contradictions at hand. I simply don't understand how someone could ever be a die hard partisan voter, sold to either party.


Republicans

-claim to be pro-life but consistantly bomb other countries, make war, and let our soldiers be slaughtered in pointless wars or let them stand around to be killed in a war that is all ready won. Also have advocated torture in the past.

-claim to be conservative and want less government rights and intervention yet have consitantly have taken away our rights with government wiretapping and spying, want to make ammedments to ban women's rights and gay rights.

-think that experience is necessary yet choose a VP canidate who has little or no experience.

-claim to be religious and christian yet rarely ever practice what they preach. Christians don't give tax breaks to the rich and screw over the poor, christians don't use dirty tactics to bring down people, christians aren't supposed to kill, and christians aren't supposed to torture (remember jesus got tortured).

-a party full of working class people and rednecks and actually think the republicans are for them, meanwhile the republicans only ever give the rich the breaks and are in bed with the oil people.

-a party that claims to be a true all american party yet supports a 140 year old confederate flag that is a disgrace to this country that by flying it is just as bad as flying a a nazi flag or a flag of some other nation.

-Claim to be a working man's party yet allow millions of illegal immigrants across the border for cheap labor

-Have a war on drugs but let millions of illegals across the border.

-have a war on terror but let millions of illegals across the border and concentrate on countries like Iraq that has little or no Al Quida presence.

-have a war on terror yet sell billions of dollars in weapons to Saudi Arabia which is a country that contained more than half of the 9/11 terrorists.



Democrats

-Claim to be against war and killing yet don't mind that babies are killed in abortions.

-Claim to be for the constitution and people's rights yet want to get rid of gun rights and want to consistantly tell you what you can and can't say or what you can do in your own car.

-Think that McCain is too old to run yet pick Biden who is nearly as old.

-Claim to be against wiretapping and war yet consistantly vote with the republicans to continue these programs and taking our rights away.

-Claim to also be for the working man yet they want illegals to have drivers lisences and work our jobs.

-Claim to be for freedom of expression yet continue to war against video games, violent movies, tv shows, and music.

- Complain about how Bush mislead us into the Iraq war but then turn around and mislead americans into thinking they were going to stop the war in Iraq and investigate and possibly impeach bush and cheney and others.

-They have Bill Clinton speak at the DNC yet don't allow John Edwards to speak or even be present.

-support the influx of illegal, unskilled migrants but complain when they have to pay more taxes to support these unskilled people.

Yet your voting for Obama not the most conservative option. In any case keep telling yourself that about that  "conservative revolution".

I wonder what a "hole post" is. I know what "post holes" are. Hmmm. Maybe "hole posts" are posts with great gaping holes in their logic? Like the kind Reaganite posts?

You raise a valid point, but this is just far too stereotypical and to the extreme IMO.

Comments like these are the reason you have only 14 "applaudes" and 356 "smites". It doesn't even make sense.  

We have a few posters that spite me every time the system allows (1 time an hour) even if I have'nt posted. I can get you up to 100 soon if you want me too..

The reason he has that many smites is because this forum is filled with weak-hearted sympathizers that are scared to face reality. Democrats are idiots and will do anything neccessary to get elected just as any other politician. But they have this country brainwashed as though a true change is in work. Yes it is, a change for the worst

Both parties encroach on free speech farther than I would like. In addition to the video game and music censorship racket (bipartisan cooperation in action), each side has it's ideas on how people should be limited in or penalized for certain instances of expression. Some criticize flag burning amendments while advocating hate crimes laws and some push for hate crimes legislation while criticizing flag burning legislation.

Accompanying this is pc culture in which each side has a stake. Mind your choice of words and how you phrase things all around, lest you get labeled a racist or have your patriotism called into question.

It is inconsistent to declare some kinds of expression to be protected, and other kinds to be deserving of a penalty.
