... is knowing you can't trust them.

Quote from: Editor & Publisher
GALLUP: Trust in Federal Government, On Nearly All Issues, Hits New Low -- Even Less Than in Watergate Era

NEW YORK A new Gallup poll reveals that, as the organization puts it, Americans now "express less trust in the federal government than at any point in the past decade, and trust in many federal government institutions is now lower than it was during the Watergate era, generally recognized as the low point in American history for trust in government."

Among the findings: Barely half trust the government to handle international problems, the lowest number ever. And less than half express faith in the government handling domestic issues, the lowest findings since 1976.

Faith in the executive branch has fallen to 43% -- only 3% higher than it was just before President Nixon's resignation in 1974. At the same time, trust in Congress, at 50%, is its lowest ever.

The second step is booting all these ass hats out and bringing in some new blood.

It is my theory, however unsupported by emporcal evidence it may be, that things have not changed in Washington atleast in the last 50 years or so.

My Theory is that the reason things SEEM worse is becuase it is so unbelievably difficult to keep a secret today. The mass marketablity of the internet and techincally savy bloggers has made it so that things will HAVE TO change though.

Probably for the better,

Statistical BS. They FUDGED THE NUMBERS!  Grin

Just Kidding.

Is this something we want to hear though?  Does this give hope?  Does it mean that we all want change or that we just think BUSH is the sole problem and that both left and right are just pissed off.

This next election is going to be like a little lamb thrown to the wolves...

Remorseless and hungry.

Well, I'm sure as people were taking this poll, Democrats were thinking, "Bush is a bad president and CANNOT be trsuted" while Republicans were thinking, "Democrats are a 'do-nothing' Congress and government CANNOT be trusted."

Same goes for the people who say Congress sucks... but fail to fault their own Congressmen/Senator.

Of course, these people fail to see that "government" is made up of 2 parties... and neither can be trusted and both need to be severely crippled.

Are people oblivious of what gridlock means?  I know a few conservatives who were praising a Democratic congress just so frivlous crap wouldn't be passed.  We are in a time where those who express who they are may not be what they seem...

I blame the information age for that.  Grin
