... comes around. Iran Labels CIA 'Terrorist Organization'
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Iran's parliament on Saturday approved a nonbinding resolution labeling the CIA and the U.S. Army "terrorist organizations," in apparent response to a Senate resolution seeking to give a similar designation to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The hard-line dominated parliament cited U.S. involvement in dropping nuclear bombs in Japan in World War II, using depleted uranium munitions in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq, supporting the killings of Palestinians by Israel, bombing and killing Iraqi civilians, and torturing terror suspects in prisons.
"The aggressor U.S. Army and the Central Intelligence Agency are terrorists and also nurture terror," said a statement by the 215 lawmakers who signed the resolution at an open session of the Iranian parliament. The session was broadcast live on state-run radio. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8RV8H100&show_article=1I mean, I guess it's kind of funny, but I wanted to share this. Also, I guess all those people that say Ahmadinejad wouldn't invite controversal people to speak in HIS country should rethink that mantra. Ahmadinejad: Bush can speak at a university if he should ever travel to Iran
TEHRAN, Iran: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has extended an invitation to U.S. President George W. Bush to speak at an Iranian university if the American leader ever traveled to the Islamic Republic, state-run television reported Friday.
As part of his controversial trip to New York, the hardline Iranian leader spoke Monday at Columbia University, where he faced hostile questioning and a combative introduction by the university's president, who said Ahmadinejad exhibited "all the signs of a petty and cruel dictator."
"If their president plans to travel to Iran, we will allow him to make a speech" at a university, Ahmadinejad told state TV before leaving New York to travel to South America earlier this week. http://www.iht.com/bin/print.php?id=7670210I think he's bluffing, hoping Bush will play the, "I won't give them the kind of day" routine, cementing Ahmadinejad speech that the West is arrogant and petty. I think Bush should go... but we can't complan when Ahmadinejad gets up there and verbally assaults the president before he is even given a chance to speak. Ah well, no matter what happens, it may be interesting to watch.

Woops. All those nuts tasted the same... EDIT: That didn't sound as gay when I said it in my head ... Bush would never talk to Ahmadinejad he will only talk about him or at best at him. To talk to or with the government of Iran would be seen as counterproductive to the war they want to have with that country. There is no room for acknowledgement of their sovereignty or place in the world in the PNAC visionaries view. This is why diplomacy is seen as being weak and without merit. IMO the decision to attack Iran before the end of this administration has already been made and all actions taken will only be those that lead to that conclusion.

With all that has happened in Iraq which allies do you think are going to have a taste for attacking Iran? Or how about the Russians and Chinese to consider?
If the U.S. decides to go it alone I can assure you it's going to be a messier affair than Iraq. For starters, think of the money they'll be asking for. It'll make the budget for Iraq look like what the organ grinder's monkey is collecting.

I have to agree with Freethinker on this one, I think.

Any intelligent leader would take advantage of this diplomatic opportunity to avoid a war.
Imagine the debt and lives such a war would cost. Besides, the political dialogue between Bush and Amadenajad would be highly amusing.
