The question is simple. Each time you have sex, do you prepare to have a child?

This is an inappropriate use of the forum IMO...anyone reading the "Abortion" thread knows where this is coming from....unless you have something new to add to this making a completely separate topic, then I expect to see reasonable debatable rationale as to why a new thread is necessary.
If you fail to follow through, this will be merged with the "Abortion" thread.

My reasons for beginning the new thread are twofold. 1. There is a specific issue at debate here - the expectations related to having sex. 2. To draw attention to this particular point, which I find to be of a particularly critical nature to the debate. If this is misuse, then I apologize humbly.

My issue is since this was an issue in the "Abortion" thread, it should remain and debated there. If you can effectively demonstrate why an entirely "new" thread is necessary in order to "prove" or "disprove" a point you wish to make in another thread, then no apology is necessary. "New" threads are generally used for "new" topics that in and of themselves have features and characteristics worthy of debate, as opposed to attempting to brow beat someone with a point you are attempting to make in another thread.

I'm not attempting to "brow beat" anyone. I mentioned no names, or even specific arguments. I'm making a point about people's intentions regarding sex. This isn't just about abortion. It's a social question: how do we view sex? I'm genuinely curious what people have to say. Yes, the abortion thread's discussion spurred this poll. I don't see this as misuse.

If this is a sex thread, does it really belong in U.S. Politics?

It is also related to the question of abortion. Hence the "not just about abortion" bit. But if you want to move the thread, that's fine by me.

I have stayed out of the abortion thread You were wise to do so. Thanks. They are all the same imo. Some agree some don't and the hows and whys of it are so personal that they have no real right to argue their points. Tell me after you have either been pregnant, or you had to consider what to do with an unplanned pregnancy. Spewing facts and numbers and the hows and whys of it mean absolutely NOTHING when emotions are involved. My view and standpoint are consistently the same. I am pro choice, the womans body, the womans life, the womans choice. I think that being anti abortion in the case of rape and health is stupidity.... Yet I personally would never have an abortion, that is my choice not someone elses right to dictate to me.
