My photos from.... just about anywhere, post whatever you like.

I couldn't find anyone to go with me today. One went surfing, one trains for a half-marathon, one couple wants to sleep in the morning (come on), one is recovering from a flu and one said it is too difficult for her. I went alone, start 500m, finish 2347m above sea level.

Went to Bavški Grintavec today, the one in the middle left.

Made good progress before sunrise.

Spent a lot of time thinking where to go next week.

Met just these 2 guys.

A friend took me flying a few weeks ago out of Seward, Alaska over Resurrection Bay and Bear Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park.
The light was nice...

A little glare on the plexiglas window as we take off and look west towards town:

But things get better when we look more N towrd Mt Benson, one of the peaks above the town:

But we're headed South, over the Bay:

Over Caines Head, then we catch our first glimpse of Bear G as we round Calisto head:

As we fly over Bear Glacier Bay, we remember that this whole bay used to be a glacier thousands of feet thick:

Nice light:

Bear Glacier Lake. Meltwater from the glacier at the very end of summer:

We drop in low over the glacier:

And feel the cool air:

Buzz the lake:

And catch a sweet look SE past Cape Aialik and over the Gulf Of Alaska.
When the swell's from the SE, we call the break on ocean side of the beach "Moraine". It's a left with a backdoor that goes double overhead before it gets too snrfy to ride:

 Shocked

Wow, what an amazing thread and posts.

Absolutely stunning pics COS and AP. Smiley Big applauds to both of you for that.

AP, really amazing scenery and stunning picture quality seeing where you were when you took them. COS, great mountain pictures. I love the huts too  Smiley

Then it's back to town past Fox Island, little Kat Island and the little bowel that Warren Miller likes to film in:

Thumb Cove with it's black bass and lingcod:

Mt Alice and Tiehacker:

Then over my bud's house on Salmon Creek:

Then we landed and went to the Yukon Bar:

Clap, clap, great photos. Mountains, forest, ice and the sea. Did you have the chance to explore it on foot?

Amazing. Flipping gorgeous. I have to translate to feet, so you started at about 1,500 feet and hiked to about 7,500 feet? That's a real lung-blower. How many miles (kilometers)? Good trail all the way or were you bushwacking?

It's not that much in km, maybe 5 km one way, 3 miles. The trail is marked all the way (white-red signs painted on trees and rocks, palm size) but from the appearance the trail is not used often.

Lung-blower... my chronic lung problems lead to this hobby. Anyway, I have a new camera (used in Banja Luka), I will test it in the mountains this weekend.
