Well, the Australian Federal Election has just been called for November 24th.

It will be John Howard for the Liberal Party(Right Party)

Versus: Kevin Rudd for the Australian Labour Party(Left Party)

My tip: Labour(left) by a landslide.  Sad

Might not be landslide, but I certainly think he will be rolled.  Sad

He has come out before the election and said that as soon as he wins, he will hand the leadership over to his deputy. It was a bad tactical move. Unfortunately he put ego before the party. He should have handed the reigns over a year ago to his deputy, and let the public warm to him. Going for the election to go down in the history books and then walking away, is not sending out the correct sign.

The oppostion leader Rudd is not a bad guy, and for the left party, he is pretty moderate. The problem with the left party here(The Labour Party) is that they have different factions, one being the Trade Unions, which leads to stikes, decline in business confidence, decline in economy etc etc. They typically make a complete dogs breakfast out of the economy. That is their big drawback.

Will be interesting to see how the Australian/USA relationship is when Rudd gets in. Howard was a huge USA fan and huge Bush fan.
