As an investor, I have to say that the asset coverage ratio fits in well with my stock portfolio requirements. P.S. No wonder she calls her show, "Air America"

Okay, back to the OP. I have no doubt what DogFace says is correct. That bloggers and internet sites with vested interests are exaggeration or fabricating parts of this story, to suit their vested interest. But from following up, all types of posts on this forum, it is something that it synonomous with the internet. It is not solely related to left wingers. It also happens to right wingers, anti jewish, anti muslim, anti blacks, basically anyone with a specific view. This is what happens. They have a blog, or "so called" news site, set up to perpetuate their specific view. They have volunteers who monitor news items, and conspiracy sites eg rense, infowars. As soon as something hits there regarding their agenda, they publish it on their blog. It doesn't matter if it hasn't been checked or validated, that isn't important. The goal is to get something on the site that suits the agenda, and have a third party reference point, so that it looks authentic. Most people don't even bother checking it anyway. So, conclusion, I agree with DF, that this item has been exaggerated and butchered, to suit the particular agenda. But i disagree with him that it only relates to left wingers. It applies to all agendas who are happy to use progoganda rather than fact as their information tool.

What I find interesting about this whole thing is the fact that in the three and a half years that Air America has been around this is the very first time anyone has ever shown where they were wrong about something. And AA quickly corrected themselves. I have seen numerous examples of people on the right calling Air America liars and such but until now never any actual examples of how they got their facts wrong.
As far as I am concerned Air America radio is a very reliable source of information who rarely ever get their facts wrong. Unlike right wing punditry who get many of their facts wrong on a regular basis.
And who cares what some individual bloggers are posting? Your always going to find some nut jobs who like to go off the deep end and make fools of themselves. I mean just look at Dog Face... he will say anything to attack liberals no matter how wrong he is.

And AA quickly corrected themselves. Thats the point I making. Air America and credible newsservices will correct themselves if they get it wrong, internet news sites, forums, blogs and propoganda sites with agendas won't correct it. They will leave it there as fact. And 95% of the people who view won't even google it to check if it is wrong or not. I am not having a go at Air America(although DF might be, I am not sure). I am having a go at the internet propoganda machines that disseminate these untruths. As far as I am concerned Air America radio is a very reliable source of information who rarely ever get their facts wrong. Unlike right wing punditry who get many of their facts wrong on a regular basis. From my experience, the right and left are both as bad as each other, with regards to news accuracy and bias. And who cares what some individual bloggers are posting? Your always going to find some nut jobs who like to go off the deep end and make fools of themselves . You would be surprised the multiplication effect of such nut job blogs. A blog on a subject such as jews, could have the article as fact in thousands of other blogs, forums etc within months. Someone googles it and copys it, and so forth. IMO the internet disseminates more untruth's and BS, than it does fact.

From my experience, the right and left are both as bad as each other, with regards to news accuracy and bias. While I agree with much of what your saying I have to take issue with this. From my experience the right is much worse at getting their facts wrong than the left. I hear it every day when I listen to both sides on the radio. And I can show thousands of examples of right wing punditry getting their facts wrong but anyone would have a hard time showing more than a few examples of the left wing punditry getting their facts wrong. This is the point I was trying to make when I commented that almost nobody ever refutes what Air America says. The right consistently calls AA liars but rarely ever backs it up with any examples.

Here is a perspective on the matter by Shawn Macomber. From The American Spectator, charter member of the vast right wing conspiracy. OswaldTheOsprey http://www.spectator.org/util/print.asp?art_id=12177

Who would know if they lied anyway? No one is listening. Atleast coinservative talk radio gets liberals to listen so they know what has been spun, stretched or down right dishonestly represented

I THINK the point of the OP is that not only were they wrong. They were wrong on such a rabid, over the top way. I personally find it the unmost in funny.
Come on, can't you just picture all the conspircy nut jobs on the left...."we will not be intmidated,,,,we will NOT put up with such thuggish behavior,,,,they will NOT silence us..........What? She FELL DOWN?"
"Err nevermind about that whole conspiracy thing.....Although I am sure they WOULD if they thought they could getr away with it"

This is the beauty of the media - these people fall all over themselves to show you just how ignorant and irrelevant they are.
Don't be upset - be thankful that Elliot (in case you didn't know this) is just another wind bag.
Like Rush. He throws things in the fire because if it is controversial, even made up, it is worth talking about, if you are an idiot.

You've got a captive audience...would love to hear it. How many times did Fox announce that WMDs were found in Iraq? Coulter is perhaps the sloppiest researecher ever, it seems as if she tries to get her facts wrong. Rush is like this guy Elliot, he doesn't often flat out lie (although he does) he just spreads BS coated spin (Democrats are traitors that want to aid Al Qaeda destroy America.) O'Reilly is the king of having his head up his ass, factually.
