... Well now, the Australian Rugby Union Team is the 'Wallabies'. They just began play in a huge World tournament. In their Pool they beat Japan 94-3 and then they beat Wales (Eight ranked World Team) 20-10. I think they play Argentina next, but I'm not sure. Anyway, Up The Wallabies!!! -Terry ...

Bloody oath! Fort, Wallabies all the way, they haven't lost yet. First match against Japan 94-3, and they have beaten France in their 'Pool' already. Up the Wallabies!

But more importantly than all that: it looks like Ireland won't make it out of their group.

To be honest I don't watch much sport. I know Kerry won the all ireland this year (like every year) but apart from that I don't know very much.

Thats great. It is good to have an irish poster on IAP The football I follow(Australian rules) recruits young players from Ireland. Australian rules and Gaelic football has similiarites, the differences being is that Australian rules is body contact and with an oval ball. There was a young irish boy who was recruited this year to one of our clubs and he has turned out to be a real star in his first year, Marty Clarke. Amazing because he had never kicked a ball before this year, and he is playing in front of huge crowds(98,000 on Friday)in his first year. As Gaelic football is an amateur competition(the players don't get paid), it makes it easy for our clubs to recruit your young and promising players. Which makes the gaelic officials not very happy. I can understand why.

It is great to have an Irishman Iaane? Is that right? You truly bless IAP and you will bring good luck and maybe some Green Beer (fallacy, but I do like Guiness).
Again, Welcome Iaane! Terry

Fuck! I thought I replied to this one.
Thank you both. Not sure what the laane business is. Plus I'm about the only Irish person who doesn't get drunk all the time.
And I just noticed that I did reply already.
Also, I was on IAP1.0.

I like rugby very much, but it is not a very popular sport in Spain. You can only watch it on TV under the "pay per view" system.
From the South my favs are the All Blacks. From the North I gotta admit that I like England playing a lot, but I'm always with Wales.

Blah, I can't believe we lost and to all teams, England Biggest surprise to me was the All Blacks losing. They are huge chokers in World Cups. They are to rugby what South Africa is to cricket. They are the best team by a mile and they always lose in the world cups. Its a mystery.

Well I watched rugby for the first time during these quarterfinals.
Interesting sport, the only problem was that I could only chose from 2 channels: DSF, German; which I understand, but those reporters really need some coffee) and TV5MONDE, French; don't understand a word, but reporters are great.
