Fuck Boston!!

Boston can go to hell and die just for this.

Haha. I actually like Boston now. My website is getting flooded from people in the area because of last night.

As a former resident of Boston, I can say I am not surprised. I went to Catholic school for my middle school years(5-8) and I can say without a doubt that catholic schools in the Boston area are some of the best in the country. They do have all kinds of dress code silliness, no makeup for girls, etc. Catholic school is quite a bit different than say an evangelical Christian school, in that the catholic school doesn't really get into all the religious debates that evangelic schools do, they focus on the education.

Which is the way it should be.

Actually, IMHO, since it is a Catholic school, they would be within their rights to do so, the same as any other religiously connected school. Fortunately, they probably figure it is better not to.

And isn't that a damn shame?

My parents wanted to send me to a Catholic school. My ousin went there (he's now 30) and he says almost half of his graduating class is in prison for some form of white collar crime.

While ironic and funny... it's also kinda sad, but whatever. I didn't go there.

I went to the private school where all the jocks are now washed up losers and the pretty girls became sluts. I'd like to think think I turned out alright Wink .

It's a private school, they can do as they please if they don't break the law.

Who cares though. It's an extreme POV.
This is the subtle line we must draw in a free society. Unfortunately we have to allow them to indoctrinate kids with their extreme view and those kids grow up.

It is a vicious cycle.

And meanwhile, a large number of kids are being denied a good education and instead are forced to look at the world through the eyes of scared, superstitious people who would rather warp minds to their point of view rather than challange children to think for themselves.

It is a Madrass here in America, and people accept it.

Shees, some people just say the stupidest things.  Grin

Barney's right.

So what is your answer? Close religious schools? This was actually proposed by none other than the Ku Klux Klan in the 1920s (the KKK was anti-Catholic back then
). Strange bedfellows!

No proposal, I'm simply saying that it's wrong to indoctrinate kids. (Guess who tried to do that? Hitler! Strange bedfellows...)

It is a vexing situation to be serious. Freedom of religion versus indoctrination. There is sure as hell no easy answer.

Legally they do - but not morally.
