Don't the Swiss realize that by imposing this restriction they will marginalize the Muslim population and prevent cultural assimilation?

The word muslim is not a description of a race. A zealous muslim is known by the manner in which he or she dresses. So too, you would recognize a orthodox jew. It was also true of every other cultural group that emigrated to this country. These religious/cultural groups segregate themselves from the rest of their community by the fence of exclusion they chose to surround themselves with. No moderate muslim will be marginalized because he/she is fully integrated into the welcoming Swiss community. Those who will be marginalized had already marginalized themselves
