Topic: Clashes B/W Saudi and Shiite Yemenites

Interresting clashes, as it seems to be a new conflict. Is Iran involved?
Will Iran be involved?

Inevitably, I feel that the entire region will have a war involving Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and all neighboring countries.

Re: Clashes B/W Saudi and Shiite Yemenites

I wonder if it has to do with Saudis allowing Israel to cross their air space to attack Iran in which case it will be the start of something big, perhaps the war you are talking about.
But it can be a local event as well.

IMO war will depends on wether the countries neighboring Iran will let Iran build nukes or not.

Of course it's Iran. It's not like these people are getting their weapons from Santa   tongue

It's like a basketball game. Iran has been on the defense for a few years. It was able to sustain the pressure. Now it has time to breath. It's offense time now.

Payback!

What international event has allowed for "payback time?"

Why is this allowed to happen?

Ok to attack evil Israel.
But if Iran starts to agress good old muslims from arab nations, it will backlash very bad against them.

Have we been living on the same planet over the past 5 years?

Again I ask:

Have we been living on the same planet over the past 5 years?

I agree. Lebanon is on a class of its own. Don't worry, the rest of the planet will catch up eventually  lol

Lebanon was once considered the Paris of the MIDDLE EAST. Who is responsible for the removal of that appellation?

40 years ago, tour operators said it was. No tour operator has said so in the last 35 years.

Then the tour operators are misinformed.

Beirut was chosen as top 1 tourism destination of 2009 by times online, and many media speak about the party scene in Lebanon.

And here is an example, a video by CNN prepared in August 2009 CNN:Beirut best party city

Re: Clashes B/W Saudi and Shiite Yemenites

Question: this activity in Yemen. Could it have anything to do with the media bubble that has brought Yemen to US attention via the underwear bomber? All the hype about the "next front in the war on terror" ?

"insurgents said they had seized more territory near the world's largest oil exporter."

Why now? Do they want to hide near the US ally because they think we will bomb? They are Islamic crazies after all, and we have hit Afghan and Iraq with similar excuses. I'm not saying we will. Fact is, we won't. But they might well believe that we will given recent history.

All thoughts welcome.

Hell is a place where there is no reason.
